Bought my first new irons since 1997. Hit the chrome version demo and really liked it. These are being cleared out for 599.00 for 5-pw and 699 for 5-gw. I didn't think they would have this much offset as I don't remember the demo being this way but I should be able to get use to it since I don't work the ball and my miss is right anyway. Cobra Forged Tec-X. 5i in first pic, pw in last 2. Added link in case anyone may be interested.

5 21.0°
6 24.0°
7 27.0°
8 31.5°
9 36.5°
PW 42.0°
GW 48.0°

The lofts are very strong.
How many other wedges will you carry?

Yeah the strong lofts plus the 65 grams of Tungsten in the sole was a big selling point for me. I need the extra distance and this 7 iron carried about 10 yards more than my current 30.5 degree. I'll have a 50, 54, and 58, which all are black as well, to finish out the set. Add in a Driver, 3 wood, and either 3 hybrid or 7 wood.

So you did not buy the gap wedge?

For some reason I saw it listed and assumed you did.

Sounds like a great setup for you.

42.5 to 50 is a pretty big gap. Could you get your 50 bent to 48/49 or so?

Yes I bought 5-GW. I bought a Cleveland Smart Sole 50, have a Maltby 54, and a new Vokey SM9 K gring 58. I love the K grind 58 for pitch shots around the green, and am hoping the Cleveland will work well for chipping and full shots.

So 5 wedges?

The lofts are getting stronger and stronger.

So now we are gapping from 42.

The shafts are long as well.

In the old days a stock six iron was 36 inches.

Yeah it's crazy. This set traditionally would have been a 4-pw but the new tech allows a high launch with the lower lofts and that's what makes them so long. That 65 gram tungsten weight in the sole is doing work for sure. If I can get a consistent 150 yds from the 7 with my screwed up back I'll be tickled to death.

Man, I got really excited about these irons last year and found a set for an unreal price on eBay. I got in a hurry, wasn't paying attn. and ended up with the one length version. I have no idea what to do with them.

They're slick. I wonder how the finish holds up.

Dunno about those, but I’ve had a Cleveland 50 degree for over a decade and it’s held up fairly well except for the clubface

I don't think the heads in a set like this can be converted. They are weighted and lofted for the single(7i) length.
