Smylie finished DEAD last in the Korn Ferry event this week.

I hate seeing this shite. I grew up playing golf with him. He was younger than me but always kicked my arse. His parents are great people. Hopefully he can find success in whatever his future holds.

I follow him scores weekly. He has such great "offense" can't turn 6 into 5 and 5 into 4. At the San Antonio tourney he was tied for 2nd on Thursday then missed the cut...sad for him.

He’s a very nice guy and super approachable. Saw him on campus one day and asked him for a picture and we talked for about 5-10 minutes and he was super genuine and appreciative.
Watched him play a few holes at the Houston Open last year and he was struggling. Had just made a double-bogey and he looked up at me and saw my LSU shirt and took the time to come up to me, give me a fist bump and a “geaux tigers”
Rooting for him and hoping he can get things turned around!

I’d compare him kind of to Paul Dunne who played in the final round of the Open before imploding. Very solid golfer who can get hot, but not ever great (in comparison). But Smylie lost it mentally after that and Dunne appears to have righted the ship. Hopefully Smylie can get it back soon.

First off, Smylie claims to be a professional golfer because he is one. He has a win on tour and over $1M in career earnings so he cant just go back to playing the BBQ tour even if he wanted to. If the guy obviously has the game to do it why not keep trying as long as he can get exemptions into the field? Has to be better than whatever cubicle you're sitting in today.
