Until Phil finally won a major, he was known for choking. Sound familiar? Phil wasn’t Phil at Rory’s current age

With all the legal gambling venues now, across the country, no doubt he's staying busy

Pretty sure Phil quit gambling according to Billy Walter's book

He still has another 5 years of a 4-day hot streak there and contending, if not pulling off the victory.

He very nearly did it last year. I thought he was gonna pull it off TBH.

Ehhh… he was never really in contention last year.

Super impressive final round though, and I wouldn’t be shocked for him to make another run at Augusta at some point in the next few years.

He’s gonna have some terrible rounds and is far less consistent than early in his career, but he’s proven he can come from nowhere and compete. Even at the PGA he won in Kiawah he won, he’d been terrible leading up to that.

Could he return to Senior PGA tour?

No . . . Read an article yesterday where LIV will have an impact on the Senior Tour as well since several of the players are eligible now, or would soon be eligible, if not for LIV.

He was in position to make a move early in the third round then he collapsed in the last 12 holes and put himself too far behind.

In Spite of that he was a Rahm mistake with a water ball on the back 9 from having a realistic shot at winning.

We've seen guys hit into the water on 12 and make double a ton of times over the years. Had Rahm done so Phil would have been tied for the lead. You could say he never really had a chance but he did enough to make Jon at least have to work through a little pressure on the back 9 unlike anybody else

He's going to randomly have it click and get into the mix at another major in the next couple of years just like 21 Kiawah and Augusta last year.

He still has the ability to beat everybody if he's on for 72 holes. His speed is incredibly impressive for someone his age. When he's clicking the other parts of the game are still good enough.

Mentally he just doesn't have the ability to focus outside the majors. It's clear he doesn't really care as much. That was the case the last couple of years before he went to Liv.

He's exempt in the next 2 us opens. After that given all of the controversy I'm not sure he would get a special exemption. They may give him one in 2027 at Pebble Beach because of his personal history there.

I think once he's done playing in us opens he probably retires so there probably isn't anywhere he goes after Liv.

I would assume if Liv survives he'll be the non playing captain of the Hy Flyers and he'll do commentary for Liv.
