Crooked Hollow out towards greenwood used to be a fun tract that was usually in good shape. I've not played there in several years, though. Maybe someone hear has a more recent experience.

The best bang for your buck is Querbese, not very challenging with it only playing 6200 from the tips, no bunkers, no water hazards except for a concrete drainage ditch that crosses 2 holes. It's in pretty good shape with how many people play it.
Crooked Hollow, as mentioned above, their greens were in rough shape
Huntington-greens are awful
Northwood- greens were awful
Stonebridge- not worth the $75 green fee
Olde Oaks-cheap but it's In bad shape

Southern Trace and Eastridge are awesome but they are private and you'd have to know somebody to play.

Generally, public golf in Shreveport/Bossier sucks but that's just "par for the course"for things around here.

Crooked hollow is in terrible shape now
Olde oaks is no longer cheap, and not worth the new price.
Stonebridge is the nicest but most expensive.

If you don't mind driving 40ish minutes I would recommend trails end in arcadia.

Trail's End in Arcadia is a very nice public course, lots of elevation changes and good price.

Stonebridge. It's the most expensive but you might as well play the nicest one.

Olde Oaks layout is definitely the most fun but the greens ae rough. I'd go there is you don't care about having nice greens.

Huntington was in really good shape last year but can't get the greens right this year for some reason.

Querbes is in good shape and the greens are nice but it's just very basic. Not challenging but fun. Putting green is out of commission right now though.

Yes especially if you're used to the safe haven that is New Orleans or Baton Rouge.

Played Querbes yesterday. Greens were way out of the shape they normally are in. I’d say maybe 1/4 of the holes have greens up to where they were the last few springs/summers. I don’t know if the grass is transitioning or they fricked up and lost them.

Tempest in Gladewater is also only about 50 minutes away. Great layout and very challenging course

That’s next on my list. I have a tournament there in June.

Dang, that's no good. A month or so ago it looked like they were coming along nicely.

At this point it seems like every course in town greens are not up to par to what they were last year. Maybe because of all the rain, I don't know.

Forgot about Northwood, it's been maybe two months since I've been there but they weren't great. But better than I expected seeing that they were using temp greens less than a year ago. That back 9 is so fun.

I think Southern Trace is in good shape, but its greens are brand new. Other than that, I think the dry freeze and prolonged cool spring temps combine with wet weather have wreaked havoc on greens. I played a nice course in DFW that was also in terrible shape. Need a bunch of hot days to really get them going.

I played in a tournament there last October maybe, and they were great. They are one of only a handful of courses that have the Mach One greens.

I had only played there a few times over the years and always thought it was about as overrated as a golf course can get considering the price compared to other courses in the area. But man those new greens were nice. They were silky smooth.

Hearing that querbes may be ripping out the greens and starting over. Probably going to have temp greens this summer. . 2 decent greens is about there is.

Olde Oaks is always a good time. Won't look like Augusta out there but it is always an enjoyable round.

Played there a year or so ago. Think it is/was a Hank Haney course but was disappointing. Some nice views around the lake but the fairways and greens were not as good ad I expected. Kind of a low budget look to the overall operation but was only $25-30 to play so maybe a reason for that
