How the frick is that possible with 112mph driver swing speed.
You tell me And I think my driver swing speed averages like 114 so it’s even worse discrepancy.

I have the opposite problem. I will have consistent 110mph with up to 115-120 mph ball speeds on my 7i.

I can maybe get 140 ball speed with driver if I hit it perfect.

this is missing the forest for the trees....

I'm no expert. I'm not a great golfer. I dont hit it far. I average about 270yds with the driver but when I hit the sweet spot, I'm in the 300-305 range. Having said that, I hit a 7i (not strong lofted) about 175-180. You need to fix this area. You should be able to take a half swing with a 7i and punch it at least 160-165.

You dont need to come down sharp and compress but you cannot be swinging up at the ball either. You'll get way more improvement with your irons than trying to get 5 more yards out of your driver.

“I don’t hit it far”

“I hit 7 iron further than the average PGA tour player”

I dont hit it further. The average carry for PGA is around 172. My carry is less than that. My "average carry" since I'm inconsistent is probably 165-169. I can carry 170+ when I catch it good.

Plenty of shorter/average hitters play on tour, anyway. It is when you get to the top of PGA stats you see the extremes.

X-stiff iron shafts are much needed with your swing/ball speed numbers. Should add 5-10y on that 7i with less dispersion

How old are your irons? Driver carry 296 does not equate to a 150 yd 7 iron with modern clubs.
