I haven't heard anything about it, but at 30 years old and heading into his prime, Scheffler just flew by Tiger Woods...
As you look at this list, realize that Tiger is essentially retired and McIlroy is 37. I realize that if Tiger had played at the same time as Scheffler and earned what Scheffler earned for winning a tournament, Tiger would probably be close to $300 million in career earnings. Nevertheless, it's still pretty impressive.
Also, as far as career money (and yearly money), only tournament winnings count. So, the $23 million Scheffler won for being the FedEx points leader isn't even in that figure.
Over the last three weekends of the season, Scheffler won $3.6 million (St. Jude's), $426,250 (BMW) and $10 million for the Tour Championship, for a total of $14.026 million in three weeks.
When you add that to the $23 million he collected for being the FedEx points leader, that comes out to $37.026 million he's collected in the last three weeks.
The $37.026 million would put him at #44 on the career money list.
That is insane!
