The par 3s on judge are a MFin beast.

There's one where you cross a wooden bridge and it's on a pennisula. My first shot was to the right of the green and I chipped my second into the water. Took a drop chipped my 4th into the bunker on the right side (near my first). Getting out of the bunker on my 5th...into the water. Dropped, chipped onto the green, 3 putted. And my round was pretty much over.

RTJ is the best deal around for a group of guys.

This. Moved to Florence 6-7 months ago after being in NOLA the last 6 years. Play the RTJ Shoals courses every weekend for $50 with a trail card. Courses are always in great shape and a lot of fun. $50 in NOLA on Saturday gets you the North Course Goat Ranch at City Park. I forgot how much better golf in Alabama is compared to Louisiana.

Glad you are liking Alabama . Lot of good golf in the NE Alabama, SE Tenn, NW GA corridor.

We played a scramble as it was our 2nd 18 of the day and we wanted to have a little fun with our big group.

Needless to say, I'm pretty sure we double bogeyed that hole playing best ball with some pretty decent golfers.

I think we shot like 2 or 3 under from the 2nd deepest tees. Pretty big kick in the crotch but we were also getting pretty toasty at that point.

I think I played the Senator at Capitol Hill. May have been the other one, but it wasn't the Judge. I thought one of the 9's at Cambrian Ridge in Greenville was tougher than the Capital Hill course I played. It had a LOT of blind shots. Forget which 9 it was. Loblolly I want to say.

Oxmoor Valley in Birmingham is still my favorite on the trail, though it gets a lot of traffic and can be in iffy shape sometimes. The Valley course is good blend of challenging and good scoring opportunities.
