Visually stunning. Over the top difficult at times. Played orange tees at 6500ish. Tips are 7900.
92 and played well. 2 birdies and a shite ton of doubles and triples. Fairways and greens were fantastic. Tee boxes are abused by the 230 rounds/day on the weekends. You just have to be perfect. All "slight" mistakes were severely punished. Cart service is excellent. Incredible facility. Daughter is now in Auburn so I will be playing all along the I65/I85 corridor

Par 3s are amazing

Played all 3 of the Capital Hill courses 8 years ago, really enjoyed them and the elevation changes.

The Senator can be a beast.

RTJ is the best deal around for a group of guys.

Love the course, first hole is a perfect introduction to the arse whipping you are about to receive

The long par 5 on the front with a forced carry over water went elbow deep on me.

Legislature was my favorite. Both are great though.

Great facility.

Senator was pretty meh. Could have done without it. Love hitting a great tee shot only to wind up with a lost ball in 5 foot grass hitting blind into tiny arse fairways.

Tee'd off at 12:30 in Nov when LSU played at Alabama when the game was delayed a month because of 911. So crowded and hard didn't finish the round due to darkness. Then played Oxmoor Valley in Birmingham the next two days, and the same thing but we finished because we tee'd off at 9am. Fine fricking golf courses though.

Lol the 16th hole on the judge is a par 3 that plays about 265.

Nobody plays the judge from the tips except as a novelty or as a huge mistake.

Yea, the starter said only very long college players and delusional people play the tips.

It was a huge mistake but just wanted to see where my game was. And on that course it was in the toilet. Must of lost a dozen balls in 16 holes.

At courses like that I like to stand on a few of the tee boxes from the tips just to appreciate how good the really good golfers are. The sight lines on a lot of those are so different and add a huge degree of difficulty, not even mentioning the additional distance.

The first time I played there back in 2014 or so someone who worked there mentioned that they had campaigned to potentially get a US Open at one point. Not sure the course would have the infrastructure for it though. It’s definitely hard enough.

Yeah they want to get a big tournament out there. But all of the web.com amd LPGA events out there have been on the Senator course. The problem with the judge is getting the people out there. Fans and tournament personnel would be squeezed.

RTJ actually owns adjacent property for an alleged fourth course out there.

I played Ross Bridge and the Judge from the tips on back to back days in January one year several years back. Distance has never been my issue but I’ll be the first to tell you that was an awful idea and we got our arse kicked on back to back days. The only way I’d play either course tipped out again is if there had been a huge drought and you were getting 75 yards of roll. Great courses but I still have nightmares from that trip.
