Reconfiguring my bag now that I’m golfing multiple times a week

Just got married so we joined the local country club so we can golf and play tennis more. Prime golf season right now so we are focusing on that. I’ve only ever had used clubs and am still working on my game. Hopefully now that I’m playing 4+ times a week vs once or twice a month I can start to see improvement.
My bag is as follows:
Driver
5W
4H
5H
3-9i
PW
GW
SW
LW
Putter
I use the 4H a ton it feels like and have finally started to hit my driver relatively straight with consistency rather than slicing which I’ve done a lot since I was young. I never use the low irons anymore and have been getting better with the 5 wood.
I guess basically what I’m asking is am I missing anything? I understand that 3W are a bitch to hit compared to a 5W. Should I go for more hybrids rather than low irons if I hit those better?

With a 4h in play, do you need the 5w? They’re probably really close in loft.
Also, with a 4&5h you probably don’t need the 3&4 irons.
I love my 3w, but you could look into a 4w. 16.5*

The 5W is 18 and the 4H is 22.

I'm rolling with this:
Driver
5W
7W
4-9i
PW
GW
54
58
I'll eventually drop the 4I and add a 3W. There's a big gap between my driver and 5W, and the 4I and 7W are the same loft.

I play golf with my wife " Once" lol
Adding in a 4 wood or 7 wood, dropping the 5w

She’s been riding along and driving the cart recently. It’s very nice.

You would probably shave multiple strokes off your round if you would carry a putter in your bag too. Just saying

The best plan is to hit your 5i and 6i on trackman device to see what your avg distances are and do the same for the hybrids and your 3w/5w.
You want to try and get gaps 10yds apart as you move to the next club. Figure out what distance you need covered and/or which clubs you prefer that are that distance for you.
You can more easily decide which clubs to drop/keep and decide if you need to get a new club altogether for a certain distance bc you either can’t hit that club well or count on it consistently.
You definitely have to get rid of any club you feel like you cannot hit because you will never try on the course and it takes away a spot for one you could.
Hope that makes sense.

Definitely makes sense. Thankfully I have Arccoss and that’s been giving me great info but it isn’t rounded out yet. I need to get more rounds in to analyze it.
Would that replace my need for trackman software?

That’s perfect.

Just kidding you.
I think that's great if your wife enjoys the game. There is a lot to like about the country club life with your spouse.

15 clubs? No putter?
Added the putter. When I added the lob wedge last year I never pulled out another club since I’m not playing competitively.

I still don't understand why people care how many clubs other people have? I'll carry 20 clubs if I damn well feel like it.

For now I play the game casually. I’m still feeling out which clubs I hit best on a consistent basis. Now that I’m playing 4+ times a week I should start to be able to narrow it down.

Maybe I’m missing something but are carrying a 3i, 4i, 5i, 4h, 5h and a 3w? Surely there has to be some overlap in there, especially given that you are at 16 clubs in your bag. I play a 3w, H, and then a 4i. Unless you’re a low single digit then in my mind there’s no reason to torture yourself with a 3i.

Well, because you’re only supposed to carry 14. You do whatever you want but yeah people usually tend to care when you don’t follow the rules of golf. If we were betting I’d ask that you play with the same amount of clubs everyone else is playing with.

All my clubs are used. So when I bought a set of irons it came all the way down to a 3i. Then I bought a set of hybrids/woods that just happened to come with a 5w/4h/5h. Just what was available for cheap while I start out. So yes I’m sure there’s overlap but I’m still figuring out where that is and what I hit well.
ETA; I just bought a new driver and am about to drop the 5h and go just to a new 5W/4H and when I get new irons I doubt I will go below a 4i

Gotcha. Still probably way too top heavy in that set. Typically a 4h is made to be a 4i that’s easier to hit. If you are still in the starting out phase then maybe go with something like a 3w, 5w or 3h, and then a 4i or 4h. The hybrids are infinitely easier to play than a long iron and simplifying stuff at the top end of the bag might take some of the mental out of trying to decide on a club during a round.
