Have played plenty of golf growing up on a course and for my high school when I was younger. Then life happens and you never get to play as much as you would like. Recently my boys are starting to like the game and want to play more giving me an opportunity (excuse) to get out on the course.

My current set of irons is the same Titleist DCI golds that I've had for 20+ years now. After some looking, the number of options out there are insane. I have no particular brand loyalty and looking for some recs of where I should start.

Thanks.

A set of golf clubs is very personal. Go to your local golf store and talk to somebody. They can look at your swing and get you something in the right ballpark. I would seriously recommend getting something used.

As you progress/if you progress and get more serious, you will want to get more properly fitted.

I'm all about getting a good used set. Getting fitted is something I probably should look into. Although I've played standard length clubs all my life, I'm 6'5 and probably need something longer.

Would custom fitting generally affect the shaft of the irons or the irons themselves? I guess I'm asking if it would still be easy to find a used set based on my personal specs.

Yes, most likely you will.

Your custom specs will affect both. Finding the right combination is a great feeling.

They have pretty much a brand new set of i59s on sale on wrx right now. If I didn't have a set on order I would buy them.

Oh thats a shame. Hypothetically speaking, if you were to sell them, what would a set like that go for these days?

Ping I210's are as good as anything if you need forgiveness and good looks.
