I wonder how much money some of these big guys like Rahm actually made from LIV. I know Rahm's contract was reportedly 350mil but I wonder how much of that he actually got.

At this point it's believed to be an agreement reached between parties, though it can't be formalized because Rahm is still under contract with LIV. The PGAT certainly can't approach him to have these discussions (see: potential tortious interference), and he could be taking further financial risks by approaching them. For these reasons, it's advantageous for the tour to downplay this, act as if these conversations haven't happened, or that a deal is "premature".
That doesn't mean at all that these things haven't happened. While neither side will be thrilled with it being reported, I am absolutely not the first one to know about this, simply the first to post about it.

Sorry, but he left under his own free will to chase a bigger paycheck. He should have to qualify for the KornFerry Tour, or the European Tour & play his way back to the PGA Tour. Fair for one, fair for all…

Great idea!
Screw over some kids and journeymen trying to make it, bc you want to prove a point.

So what is your thoughts of Rory only playing 14 events instead of the mandatory 15? I mean fair is fair according to you.
I think the tour will make an exception for both players because the tour is better when both players are playing

If Rahm agrees to pay 25 million , that should be enough of a penalty for anyone.
Can't blame someone for chasing 300 million , no matter how it works out.
I'm not sad that LIV is going away, the product never appealed to me with the noise, shotgun start and graphics.
It will be interesting if he returns if he can be highly competitive again.

I would tell the tour to suck it and retire.

If you want the best players on the PGA Tour, get ‘em to play for it. Is Rahm one of the best? Get him to prove it…

I’m not a Rory fan at all, if the rules are to play 15 tournaments, play 15. If not, then you need to requalify. Pretty simple, really…

frick an exception, rules are rules.
Doesn’t matter what your name is or how good you are.

Yep, this is how it should go, but probably won’t.

The $25M...
Not that it matters all that much, but I wonder if he's able to spread that out of X-number of years?

So, are you arguing that he should just be in the PGA Tour immediately? That would still impact the lower levels. He would bump someone down to the Korn Ferry that would bump out this journeyman that you are concerned about. Or there may be an extra spot like Brooks where him playing brings in another player to each tournament.
I would imagine whatever Rahm does, his biggest motivation is doing whatever gets him the best chance to be in the Championship level in 2028. If there are a couple of spots for the top 2 DPWT players, that may be the route. If there aren't, it may be in his best interest to pay whatever fine they are requiring just to earn his way into those events for 2028.

I assume a good bit of the $25M will be deductible.

I agree with you but we all know that’s not what’s going to happen to Rory.

I'd bet Callaway happily pays a portion of that to get their best player back in front of significantly more eyes.

John Rome was and is an independent contractor. If he wants to play on the Asian tour. So be it. If he wants to play on PGA Tour and he has a ranking to justify it. PGA Tour should welcome him with open arms.
However the make him do it paying 25 million to punish him is Bull Shite.
If some of the lesser known guys want back. Korn Ferry is where its at and the PGA Tour.
As far as I know nothing on an application or entry form says you are not able to play if you played on LIV Tour.
