Putter switch from mallet to blade

I switched from an Odyssey Stroke lab mallet type putter to a Ping Anser 2 blade style putter. This has made a huge difference in judging distance. For some reason, I am also able to putt “on line” more consistently too so my alignment has actually improved, which was a surprise. I have not changed my putting stroke and I’m now able to one-putt several times per round and keep 3-putts to a minimum.
On the alignment, I can only think that the weight of the mallet was causing me to mishit slightly as the blade seems to “want” to stay square.
Anyone else see their putting improve with a simple putter change?

Congrats on finding a putter setup that fits your stroke. It was likely not the overall weight of the mallet causing mishits or you missing the target line. There is a lot of science that has gone into ways the shaft - putter head connection and amount of toe hang matches to the different arcs of individual putting strokes.

I have a Ping Wolverine which is a mallet putter. Been using it for years. Only problem I have with it is that I don't strike it consistently off the face solidly. Seems to have a very small sweet spot. Which kinda matters on super fast greens.
Been wanting to switch over to an Odyssey for a while. I've putted around with them at golf stores, and they feel so much more consistent and solid. Big sweet spot.

Don’t trust the putting greens at golf stores. The funnel to the hole.
Does anyone else get the Pyramid putter targeted ads? I’m intrigued

Whenever my putting gets off, I go back to my 8802 for a while.
If I’m making putts with it, my stroke is solid

No, but LAB golf is spamming my inbox daily.

Got my eye on that new Ten Ball 2 red stroke lab. Looks so good with that red shaft. Tons of guys playing on tour with them.
I just watched a GM Golf video with Akshay Bahtia, he had the arm lock version and he absolutely could not miss with it. Lines look so good at address.
