Staying at the Phoenician in early May for a work trip. Would like to play 1 round at a nearby public track(within 30 mins). Budget is $150. Any suggestions? TIA!

The Phoenician has a great course on site. That isn't an option?
ETA: It's also within your price range.

Sorry should have noted...1 free round at the Phoenician is included, looking to go offsite for another round.

quote:Awesome. It's a fantastic course. You'll love it.

TPC scottsdale champions course
I played it several years ago and enjoyed it

In May it may be hot enough where you can pay troon north and the prestigious courses for around 100 bucks. Always tee times on golf now

I remember really liking We ko pa (sp?)
Greyhawk is fine. Stadium course is solid but not super memorable outside of a few holes.

Thanks Ell! Have you played the Phoenician since the redesign?

Thanks for the tip! Was actually hoping to play troon but saw the hefty price tag right now. Which course there do you recommend?

We were there for a work function on 2013 and 2014. Not sure if that’s before or after honestly.

Troon north has two courses, the boulders has two courses, Quintero is north west Phoenix but I hear it’s amazing, there’s a stupid amount of options

Troon is by far the best course.

I will say this. It is absolutely worth the extra $125 to play troon compared to the other options if you’re here for a trip. You’ll look back and regret not

you can often find deals the day you want to play using some of the local websites for tee times.

I love Troon north, but it is not far and away the best course. I don’t like the Phoenician since the redesign as they removed some of the better hole IMO.
Eagle Mtn is cool, but I would really recommend We Ko Pa cholla course for a true desert golf experience. No houses on the course and you must book by calling them or on their website. Sun Ridge Canyon is also another cool desert course that is very challenging.
ETA-disclaimer I think both the TPC courses are way overrated and tourist traps. Way better golf is available for much better prices. I really try to talk everyone out of playing those overpriced, overrated dumps. It pisses me off they continue to get away with the prices they charge.
