Headed to the phoenix area for a few weeks for work. What are some places I should try to get an evening round in while I'm there? TPC Scottsdale Champions course is definitely on the radar if I happen to have to stay one of the weekends and not fly home for the weekend. I'm staying in the west phoenix area (Goodyear). Every course I've looked at seems absolutely beautiful so I'm definitely looking forward to it.

I have played We-Ko-Pa, Troon North, and Greyhawk. All three were fantastic. My personal favorite was We-Ko-Pa because it was a more open course. The other two are very difficult but alot of fun.

I played Whirlwind several years ago. It was a fun desert course. LPGA Tour played there earlier this year & the conditions looked good.

I just got back from the Biltmore yesterday and played both their courses. Honestly, I would not recommend.
The Estates course is pure chaos with the parallel fairways and people hitting across multiple fairways.
The Links course was a nice layout and had a magnificent par 3 no. 15 with a super elevated tee box and a Carry over rocky desert brush & cacti. Very cool.
But honestly for a resort facility, I expected more.
Cart girls & halfway house girls are super hot. That’s all I got.

Las Sendas was a little off the beaten path but a good experience and going to be a little cheaper than some of the Scottsdale spots.

Wife just told me that she wanted to go to Sedona for our anniversary in October. The hook was “and I want you to play golf”. She is obviously up to something.

We-Ko-Pa as mentioned.
The TPC courses and Troon North are both good to very good, but I am not sure I would pay the prices with the alternatives around there.
Quintero is absolutely majestic but a bit of a haul to get to. My favorite course point blank that you can play in the area and one of my favorites anywhere in the country that you can play. It doesn't get the pump that Streamsong, Sand Valley, Pinehurst, Whistling Straits, et al all get, but I would put it favorably against all but a handful of the courses on the big, well-known resort properties around the country. They just did a fairly serious renovation last year, so not sure how that's going quite yet (and if the greens are truly grown in yet).

Last year I played The Phoenician (stayed there and like that layout on the back 9), and TPC scottsdale. as many said, tpc is probably insane around tournament time in feb, i was there in july and it was just a nice course. but it was fun playing it from the tips.
prior year, Raven, Eagle Mountain, Phoenician.
We-ko-pa as mentioned multiple times, never had openings when I was there.

As others have said, Troon and Greyhawk are fantastic. Would also add The Boulders and The Westin Kierland course.
