Going to Phoenix at the end of January for the WM Phoenix Open and was gonna play golf with some friends while there. I know it's the super busy/pricey season so I'm looking to book a tee time in advance. Any course recommendations from anyone that's played there before? We are decent golfers and budget is <$250 per person

My favorite was Gold Canyon Dinosaur Mountain

Lots of good golf but that place is pretty spread out. Staying in Phoenix?

We ko Pa

ASU Karsten Course afterward set up a fitting session at Ping for the experience. Well worth the price and experience what its like to get fit like a tour pro.

We literally just had this topic a few weeks ago so I’ll repost what I did in that thread.

Here:
Don’t play tpc.
Both WeKoPa courses are fantastic and no houses.
Eagle mtn is in the same area and is a more friendly course off the tee. Good views.
Can’t go wrong with Either Troon course or Boulders.

If willing to drive 1.5 hr then Wickenberg Ranch is phenomenal and Seven Canyons in Sedona will be unforgettable.

A bit lower tier, but still fun desert courses to check out would be Rancho Manana, Legend Trail or the Desert Ridge courses (Palmer better than Faldo).

Quintero has some pretty awesome holes, but last I played it the greens were really jacked up with a fungus or marks that made them bumpy and killed the round.

We were really thinking about either Quintero or Boulders. Wickenburg does look awesome but it is pretty far. I think Quintero will be in better condition by the time we go.

What’s you and your friends’ handicaps?
Quintero greens easily stimp at 12-13.

We are all in the single digits. I enjoy really quick greens and I'll still have fun even if the course kicks my arse. I think I read the rating and slope of Quintero from the tips is the toughest in Arizona for a public course

If you guys are single digits you’ll like Quintero. I’m not sure its toughest in AZ as perhaps Dove Mountain outside of Tucson is also very difficult and also amazing.

The greens are primo at the boulders, but course at Quintero is better.

Wickenberg Ranch is an elite course. Receptive greens and stimp 12ish. Fair, fun, and challenging. Let me know how you guys enjoy your rounds.
