Why in the world are they charging $75 a round? Greens were the nicest part of the round but everything else was meh at best.

Bunkers - lacked sand and full of pebbles
Fairways - hard panned... felt like Dumas
Roughs - were as long as typical BREC fairways
Layout - has never been that impressive (but that's subjective I suppose.)

What's the appeal?

Good greens are apparently a premium in the BR area.

I played a pga junior tournament there when i was a kid. Was really nice back then. Not sure what happened to it but that’s disappointing.

I get that, but in a state where moisture is in abundance, is it that hard to put some love into the rest of the course? Punch the fairways OR let it grow a little taller.

Supply and demand in that area.
With The Island closing, more are heading that way as well.

i cant imagine being mad about firm fairways in louisiana. i've loved the last few weeks with 0 mudballs, punch 3 irons rolling out to 250 and crisp lies.

Firm and hard pan are two different things.

And if it is sustainable charging that kinda money down here, then good for them!

I’ve said the same thing recently. It’s not that great for the price you pay for the links. Hell its $40 for 18 to play the 9 hole course twice during the week. I’d rather go to greystone or Santa Maria than pp
