Is this some sort of covid protocol or just early part of the tournament?

See it on some shots, mostly drives.

Okay. I just didn't see any on the first few drives I watched. I hadn't realized how addicted to shot tracing I have become.

The app not having a shot tracker is what I’m wondering about. Cant follow anyone’s round except for the scores.

Europe is still under Covid restrictions, their almost certainly working under restrictions including limited staff. For shot tracer on every shot you have to have a cameraman following.

It's definitely limited. They keep saying, "now to hole XX with shot tracer technology". In past tournaments, they would hardly make an announcement. Also, it's weird calling it "technology" when it's something that's been around for years.

They should just fake it. We wouldn’t know any better
