I’m about a 14-20. Had a long hiatus and have played about 8 rounds in the last two months, and have a little more flexibility/money/time to play more now. Ironically my game seems to be better after taking a couple years away. I have several young children who are getting to the age where they can start learning. Looking to improve over the next few years to around a 10 or better, and looking for a “game improvement” set of irons specifically as the ones I have are ancient.
Mainly looking for iron recommendations but also wanted to get everyone’s feelings on if it’s worth it to get fitted and if so a recommendation in the NOLA area.

If you have a fairly repeatable swing, yes.
If not, it would be best to get a couple lessons. Then, get fitted.

TM Stealth with the proper shaft should work.

you and your kids should go get fitted ASAP

Yeah, if you’re swing is consistent, get fitted.
If not work on your swing to where you have a consistent ball flight on good hits. Then go get fitted. A place like Club Champion is where you want to go. They have all males and models of iron heads and shafts. It’s well worth it.
There’s also a place on the west bank that does fittings as well.
I went to a club champion and was fitted into Srixon ZX5s, after playing them for a several months, I felt they were too heavy for me. Turns out Club Champion builds all their Itons to a D5 Swingweight. I need a D2 Swingweight. I went to a different local shop and I immediately gained 5mph Swingspeed and an extra 20feet in height.

I feel like Ping G420 is the easiest answer to this. Get what looks good to your eye that provides some help on off center strikes

I believe they have 410 or 425, but not 420.

Good advice here thanks everyone. I have a decent swing that is repeatable. Golftec a good place to get fitted?

Yep sorry, think they missed the opportunity to sell 420s to the recreational weed smokers...

Club Champion is better because of the bigger selection of iron heads and shafts that you can try.
