Greetings,
I've been using an Odyssey White Hot Rosie putter and as I play more golf (been playing 2 years), I am considering switching up to a blade style putter. My feeling is as I get a little better at the game, I want a little more feel.
The Rosie feels kind of heavy.

What are your thoughts on putters and putting?

This is the most individualistic part of the game. Get what works for you. Personally, I like the mallet and always have.

Tiger has had replicas of his famous putter made. He says none of them are the same.

Are you a straight back straight thru putter or do you have an arc?

All the great putters use/used blades but that mallets are the best for most average golfers. But I use a blade bc I don't stroke the mallets I've tried well. It is truly a personal preference.

Eta: that's isn't my opinion. I heard that on a podcast

I’ve had a odyssey white hot 2 ball since about 2010. I usually average about 28-34 putts per round with it. I changed to a SC blade putter just for newer technology and a bigger sweet spot.

What suits your eye best? What suits your stroke best?

You can get a mallet putter without an insert and you’ll get more “feel”, so if a mallet or mid-mallet works for you now, try finding a similar style with a different face.

Just pulled the trigger on a used Odyssey Stroke Lab 1 putter.
Also, my Rosie had come with a fat grip...may regret not getting that on the new blade but I wanted to experiment with the differences.

I've went through several over the last few years. The best I've found for my game is a mallet putter with a milled face. You get that same feel as a blade off the face, but the alignment is much easier

I have an Odyssey 2-ball blade and I like it. It's like a hybrid of a mallet and blade.

After owning a 1000 putters, I am only half joking...

I believe that the "Flow Neck" is the greatest thing ever.

Really allows me to see the ball and visualize the line.

Currently using a Ping Tyne 4 with the Flow Neck, also have a Cally and Spider with the flow neck as backups.

My thoughts are that you should really try and get an in depth putter fitting. You can get fit for a club that you will not have to replace and that you will use more than any other club you buy.

Proper fitting allowed me to learn that using a line on my ball was counterproductive to me aiming the club face, and I also learned I needed to have weight inside the handle to improve my distance control.

I was very surprised by how much stuff I had no Idea I didn’t know.

I do say. My lowest has been 28 and my highest 34. I track it every damn round. Actually I average 1.72 per round

Great players also use mallets. See Phil, Rory, DJ, Jason D, Kisner,

OPive found that unless I’m playin on really fast greens, my distance control takes a serious nose dive with a blade. Your results may vary

Kisner is really the only great putter on that list.

I agree Chappy.

Phil uses a modified flange 8802 blade copy from Odyssey.

What is strange is that Phil Mickleson was such a good putter in college and now it's a crapshoot.
