As someone who would benefit from the improvements to city park im 100% on board with telling LIV find somewhere else.

Giving 7 million dollars to a tour backed by guys literally throwing money away just feels wrong to me. Add on its expected to take place during the summer and this has bust all over it.

Another disaster Landry is producing that no one is asking for.

It’s $7M that the state will spend anyways, right?

As I posted earlier in the OT thread, it’s a multiyear deal for 3 years that’s expected to bring ~$60M (20M/yr per pride’s research) of spending/economic impact to the state.

Where was the outrage for the state spending $5M for a US Bowling tournament?

Louisiana committed $4.5 million in state funding to support the IndyCar Grand Prix of Louisiana, which took place at NOLA Motorsports Park. This money was intended for track improvements and related marketing efforts.

Louisiana spent millions in 2015 for a terrible Indy car race. Wasteful spending is par for the course.

Didn't the state pay for TPC to be built and subsidizes the course yearly?

They’re asking for $ to bring Andrew Novak, Ben Griffin, JT Poston, the Hojgaard’s, & Sepp Straka to play in Avondale?

what a dumb response

The Zurich doesn't get counted since it's a team event, but every PGA tour event (other than opposite field events) has a higher x-score on datagolf measuring the strength of field than every LIV event.

The Zurich had Rory, Lowry, Morikawa, Fitzpatrick, Horschel, etc. this year. Plenty of big names even if you don't want to buy into the strength of field metrics

Yeah… PGA players play a lot more golf than LIV guys so their fields will be rated better on datagolf/OWGR.

Regardless of how high they’re ranked, they hardly have any household names playing in them.

LIV New Orleans will bring a better field of players than Zurich & recognizable names. It’s not really close

So because you don't recognize a guy's name, he must not be good? Yet look at what Novak and Griffin are doing right now, the guys can flat out play. Many of the LIV big names have been playing poorly, certainly when they play the majors except for Bryson and Rahm.

People keep parroting this shite with absolutely no facts.

Masters:
Reed 3rd
Bryson T5
Bubba T14
Rahm T14
Hatton T14

PGA Champ:
Bryson T2
Niemann T8
Rahm T8

Everyone knows guys like Phil & DJ aren’t the same as they once were, but they’re still a big name.

You can’t call Hatton a big name and then shite on griffin and Novak

From a fan perspective they are the same. Hell, if Nieman is in that bucket too

Examples

You have big name good golfers

Rory
Scottie
Bryson
Rahm

You have good golfers

Griffin
Straka
Nieman
Hatton

You have big name golfers

Rickie
Phil
Bubba

So the Zurich will have a lot of good golfers

LIV Nola will have a few big name good golfers, some good golfers, & some big names.

I like how you pretend Rory, Scottie, Xander, and Morikowa all haven’t played the Zurich recently

All big name good golfers

For LIV? yes, outside of maybe Koepka.

For PGA? Have no idea, which was the original point

PGA has tried to solve this for sponsors with their Signature events, but then you still have guys like Rory who can back out

The JimTiger mental gymnastics to validate LIV are impressive. Hopefully this is your bit now and you don't actually believe what you're arguing.

I fully believe LIV will bring a better list of players to New Orleans than the Zurich will in 2026.

Jim is either Saudi Arabian or Greg Norman’s lover. Nobody should give this much of a shite to white knight this much for shitty LIV.

It’s truly remarkable and somewhat admirable.
