How difficult would it be to eliminate the FedEx cup format in favor of an end of season tournament that is a series a 54 hole no cut team events that award an individual and team champion based on points each season? Or how unlikely is it that some of those types of events simply replace the forgettable tournaments each season? It's wild to speculate anything at this point with any certainty. Nobody has to pretend like they weren't caught off guard with this.

The dumbest thing in this thread was someone saying 100 tour players were about to join liv. That’s almost the entire tour

I’m watching the yassir/Monohan interview. It sounds like there may still be LIV events in the future.

Agreed. Followed closely by calling LIV a failure.

It just makes sense.

What makes sense? That there is a far bigger uproar about a company making one can that was never for sale that hurt people's feelings or that people don't care about a group that helped fund terrorist acts against America is now heavily invested in an American Sport?

This is the kind of emoting that we expect from a BL drinker. classic projection.

In what ways have you seen my lack of critical thinking, especially regarding this?

If you’re incapable of saying anything negative about something you support, regardless of what it does, it’s just a bad look. I have criticized the PGA Tour plenty of times. So have other LIV “detractors”. Do you think that has been the same case on the other side with the strongest LIV supporters?

Where have I said Jay will remain commissioner of the Tour?

Also, ell, tell me more about the 100 tour players that were about to jump to LIv

I wouldn't call it a failure just yet, we will have to see what happens in the coming months

But what we do know is that 1) Saudis are ponying up money ( which in my opinion means that they -LIV - wanted/needed legitimacy 2) the LIV CEO isn't mentioned in any forward working capacity ( or seemingly aware of the deal) ... When the CEO is excluded... usually means things aren't going well

Or...it could be the opposite. This is what Saudis wanted and the only way to get it was this route and if so...LIV definitely wasnt a failure. The cash is meaningless and Greg was just an employee

LIV failed. It just did. It was a takeover attempt and it failed.

PIF now controls the PGA Tour, with Monahan as figurehead, DP World Tour which brought the PIF into golf, and LIV Golf.

All of those golfers that remain “loyal” to the very disloyal PGA, in all of its different forms, will pay a big price when the inevitable MERGER with LIV comes, and you get nothing but a big “thank you” from PGA officials who are making Millions of Dollars a year. If you don’t take the money now, you will get nothing after the merger takes place, and only say how smart the original signees were. Good luck to all, and congratulations to really talented Cam Smith on his incredible WIN!

Using a trite cliche like “bots” when you have the other “side” in here making just as, if not more, ridiculous statements.

Who are you talking to?

Absolutely. Your inability to see that only reinforces my point about your lack of self awareness.

personally think fines should absolutely stand. The players agreed to that. Up to them to try and fight against it if they choose too

So if they refuse to pay the fines, the best players don't get back together. Surely you just want them back together. You said so yourself.

It’s this. I just watched the Yasir interview. They have a 14 industries they want to use the PIF to help them gain control and favor. He said it’s in their web site and not a secret. Sports/entertainment is one of the 14 industries. Today’s announcement is a MAJOR step in accomplishing that goal.

After two years of emoting he said all he cares about is what is on his tv. Yet he still wants fines? Hmmmm.

If that were remotely true why would LIV agree to the deal?

Not saying they were getting 100 players, but they accepted a deal that gave them EXCLUSIVE investment rights on 3 tours. WTF was PGA thinking other than get rich and get out quick!

The point I was proving. He left out the suspensions because that would have been too obvious.

I do. So I want them to pay the fines that are levied on them
