The Masters penalized Tianglang Guan, a 14 year old am, like 15 years ago for slow play. While every guy out there takes forever.

I didn't get to watch The Open due to work. I took the Mrs. out to dinner, came home, and sat down to watch Golf Channel highlights. There's a guy I've never heard of on the top of the leaderboard. A couple of guys posted 62. I watched for well over an hour and didn't see a single highlight of anyone's round.
All they could talk about was this drama. I went to bed angry. Show me some damned golf!

Rule 8.1 (Player’s Actions That Improve Conditions Affecting the Stroke).
Key Points (Official R&A/USGA Rules):You must "play the course as you find it."
Prohibited: Deliberately moving, bending, breaking, or pressing down growing grass (including fescue) if it improves your lie, stance, swing area, or line of play.
Stomping or heavily flattening grass = general penalty (2 strokes / loss of hole).
Allowed: Lightly grounding your club, or incidental slight bending while fairly taking your stance (least intrusive way). Normal walking/searching steps are usually OK if not deliberate improvement.
You remember that time tiger had like 10 fans lift and move that boulder and it was totally legal.

They modified the rule shortly after limiting the movement of items to things you can move by yourself.

LIV tour: not called
Domestic PGA tour: low probability of getting called
Open venues: more than likely called.
Those tea sippers love their rules.
But the threat of “taking his ball and going home” should have a 5 stroke penalty. Far more egregious than improving his lie.
