The new heel shafted Oz with insert (still lie angle balanced) looks intriguing. Center shafted putters with shaft behind head tends to cause a push without the press grip. This model worth a try.

I’ve been surprised by the effect it has.
5 footers are much easier as I strike the ball more solid. I just stiff them a little and do t give up the hole.
Long lags are much truer since now the face doesn’t rotate due to even weighting.

They were good putters but not for everyone. Not sure how they are now that they've been bought out.
OP, Id suggest tinkering with one of the other OEM's who make a zero/low torque option. I love my Edel.

I’ve been using the same putter for over 20 years

Went ahead and added an OZ.1i CB to the stable this morning before they start making them out of plastic lol

I got the DF3 December 2024. I had practiced quite a bit with a buddy’s and hit with one in store many times. Did the custom fitting, broke down and bought it… Nightmare for me! (This is an anomaly) Hardest part was lags; it is so soft that I could never get a lag close. It was either 5 feet short or 10 feet past. Secondly, I learned that on short putts I use my wrists more than I thought and I’m actually better off with my Scotty I’ve used for 15 years.
To be clear, I went for the LAB because my putts inside 8 to 5 feet were getting atrocious with my Scotty…lags were still OK. But I did feel like I needed a change.
The first round or two were just OK - I learned that the ball goes exactly where you aim, rarely getting off track with pulls or pushes. But then I got to where I could not make 3 to 5 footers with the thing! (Again, big anomaly amongst LAB users). In the end, I gave it 3 months and went back to my Scotty and am very happy with it again. Big waste of money for me…
I say all this to say - don’t think it is a magic wand. For some/most it might be, but for me it certainly wasn’t. Definitely not trashing the tech or LAB itself. I probably should have done more testing before committing.

it definitely requires that you "give in" to the tech and stop doing whatever you had been doing to manipulate putts. i.e., it's not much for "feel" and definitely doesn't work with manipulating face with wrists, which most people are doing. For me, lag putting improved when I no longer had to worry about hitting the line. It's super consistent, so I just think about how far to take the putter back and keeping tempo.

Back and forth between a DF3 JJ Spaun backup with Gears shaft and a Proto Oz1 with TPT, both are great putters, yet will have to focus on one in the long term, so far it will come down to lag putts as both are great inside of 10ft.
