The guy said it’s a bad layout. Which is patently incorrect.
It’s a public course so it sometimes gets rundown from play. But it’s above average more times than not.
It’s a great layout. Plenty of memorable holes. And risk/reward shots on most holes.

I don't care who designed it, it's not a great layout. It's OK, but it's nothing special. It's a neighborhood course and is a decent one of those, but it isn't a great layout.

Facts. Put that course in a lot of other states and it’s well below average. Nothing special about it

Last time I played out there (2 years+) they were charging $80+, 40ish sounds more reasonable though I’d still never waste my time out there. Not going to argue with someone that thinks SM’s a nice golf course
The highest rate for green fee and cart at Santa Maria is $60. It was less than that 2 years ago.
If you're lying about the cost of it, I can only assume you're also lying about the 5 hour rounds you claim to have played 2+ years ago.
I don't know anyone claiming SM is a great course. It is what it is for BR. It's current condition is better than anytime last summer and up to about 2 months ago.

For whatever reason you seem pretty pressed about defending this place.
I could’ve been mistaken on the price, but certainly not for how long it took to play. Regardless playing out there is beyond an after thought for me as is the rest of BR muni’s. Enjoy your Sunday mornings.

Yeah, sure they were. You spouted off shite to make a point and didn’t know what you were talking about, just stop responding

Trying to play in 3 hours at a muni isn't realistic. If you can play that fast at a public course it's probably a goat ranch. Not sure what you're looking for but a muni with an actual golf course architect in solid condition for $44 is a tremendous asset for people. Not sure who you're trying to flex on here

Kc keep crying, you sound like a little bitch. No flexing involved, the discussion was regarding whether SM was a nice course (it’s not). For such a “tremendous asset” pretty interesting none of y’all can get a morning tee time.

Go play at fennwood in Zachary. Great shape $25 during week and $35 on weekends.
It’s a nine hole course but has two sets of tees. Really great greens….much much better than beaver or Santa Maria

I sound like a bitch because I pointed out that you’re stupid?
I don’t give a shite about Santa Maria and didn’t say anything about you flexing or that the course is a tremendous asset. Pay attention to who you’re responding to. You’re a douche and it comes out in every post you make

So you don't have to be a member to play on the weekend?
That's $35 plus cart fee?
ETA...Looked at the website and includes cart.

We walk BC most weekends for $31 and finish in less than four hours almost every time. That is a tremendous value for a great course.

This is the most positive SM feedback I’ve seen on this board in a couple of years… it’s not just people lying
The course has been in rough shape and pace of play has been an issue. There is no debating either of those things. Glad to hear that they’ve gotten it back under control if that’s true - must have been a recent deal but happy to hear it

You can say Santa Maria and/or BREC is run terribly. There is NO denying that. But it’s crazy to say SM is a bad course. The layout is well above average for a muni. It’s also fairly priced.
But BREC sucks and has sucked for my lifetime.

Guy is insufferable. If his online persona is what he’s like in real life, he is a miserable human.

You have to be online at noon 13 days before to get those times. They go quickly, but they can be had if you do some planning.

Ahhhh, there is the secret. They don't tell you this. It is not the same noon opening for other days of the week.
I would hop on early in the morning, then tried 10:00, got distracted, went back at 1:00 and it's all gone. Have to set a phone reminder at 11:55 I guess
