Looking for suggestion on where to go to get fitted for a new set of irons in the BR area. I know of Golftec, Edwin Watts and Dick's, any other spots worth looking in to? Any places to avoid?
Anyone ever try the PGA Superstore in Houston? I'm willing to travel a little if the service is worth it.

You can try the local courses... I did a Ping fitting at The Island recently.. I'd almost prefer doing a fitting on real grass since the mats can skew numbers

The options are very limited in the BR area. There are pros and cons to nearly any situation. The ideal fit comes with hitting real golf balls off real, plush grass with a trackman or GC Quad to look at both the ball and club data.

Since we don't have both, the fitting process takes more work and time. I would demo would you can during fitting days. Most demo setups have trackman with the ability to normalize hitting range balls. From there you can get a good sense of what you like and don't like in terms of turf interaction. After that, I would go somewhere where I could get the most bang for my buck in terms of fitting options. I know Buddha got a bad rap on here and deservedly so, but him and Club Champion will have most of your options and should have people who know what they're doing. But ordering directly from them is expensive. You could get your numbers then piece together what you want via online marketplaces. I would still get lofts/lies/lengths checked afterwards though.

If you want to stay in town, your best option would likely be Blaine Patin at CCL. He's got the tools and knowhow to fit you. The range can be available to hit off of grass, and he has trackman and fitting cards for a few of the OEMs. That would be my suggestion if you were looking for a one-stop shop.

That was the biggest bullshite smear job by an indecisive Jack wagon who reneged on a purchase. Buddha wasn’t guilty of anything but trying to expedite the delivery of the guys order.

It was a bad look brought about by a customer who went back on his order. It wasn’t just about what Buddha did at the start but once the customer changed his mind. I’m still a Buddha customer.

got my first set of fitted clubs from him. He was as polite, professional, and objective as could be. Nothing but compliments for him. This was after all the BS on here FWIW.

I was the guy Buddha had it out with. The screenshots of text messages from him smeared his own name. I changed my mind and was indecisive. I wasn’t innocent. But it was shady enough mizuno headquarters got involved. I still say Buddha is the best fitter in this area. Not saying much but he’s the real deal. Just don’t use Venmo with him and make sure you’re 1000% certain cause he showed everyone how he handles things. Still a hell of a fitter.

If I’m the OP I’m not going anywhere in Baton Rouge. It’s a waste of time and money of youre serious about your golf game. Like Ell said, Buddha, CC, and James Leitz are worth the drives.

I'm looking into an iron fitting, I know James Leitz, where are the other 2 you recommended located?

1) Budda?

2) CC?

Buddha is in Gretna. Google “Bebu Golf Studio”. You have to book an appt on his calendar on the site.

Club Champion I believe has multiple locations

You should consider Paxton at Pelican Point. He has a great understanding of fitting along with your swing and what he’s seeing.

Paxton usually charges $120 for a lesson. I can find out on fittings.
