They can get a little interesting. Did you play all 3? Last round I had at the Senator I managed to scrounge out a 74, but was putting defensively all day.
Last time on the Judge though, if you missed the putt but got it within a foot of the hole on 12 it would run 15 feet back down the hill.

picked up some new T350 irons w graphite shafts. first round was really ugly with the "what the hell did I do?" thoughts, but the adjustment period, going from steel to graphite, is coming around and pretty happy with them...

Yeah they were bad. Played all 3 courses. Definitely need to know where to miss based on pins. Leg shot 95, Senator 100, Judge 100. Hit driver really well all 3 days. Irons were decent, would just miss the wrong tier, then good luck putting.
Several pins on slopes. All 4 in our group had a similar 10 foot uphill putt on Senator #6. If you missed the putt, it ended up 14 feet back down the hill. It was ridiculous. I couldn’t figure out green speeds.

Leg - fast
Senator - faster
Judge - you gotta be kidding me
You can get above the hole on leg and it not be completely unfair. I can’t remember ever 4 putting a hole prior to playing the Judge, but I’ve had to make a 5 footer for the 4th one there.
The senator though probably has the worst places to miss of all 3 though. I made 3 10+ foot putts for par coming back up the hill the other day. At least I knew what they’d do after watching them trickle down the hill on the way past.

Picked the game back up after a 20+ year layoff. Had shore duty tours in Hawaii and Scotland where I played a lot. I’m just inconsistent as heck. Currently my driver is the most consistent club in the bag. I’m pretty good 150 in but mid irons and putting suck. I’m still enjoying getting back into it . Toying with the idea of getting some lessons to help with my consistency.

I played in our club championship this past weekend. 87 Sat, 74 Sunday. That's how consistent I am...

I played with some guys I had never played with before at Torrey Pines in August. Shot a 74. Made numerous long distance putts. One of the guys I played with literally said "I don't think I've ever seen someone put this good."
A month later in my club championship I had FIVE 3 putt bogeys through 12 holes. The worst round of putting I can ever remember. Guy playing with me said "I'm not saying that's the most putts I've seen through 12 but I'm not saying it's not."

My game is cloudy with a chance of showers. Also tornado warning is in effect.

At least you did not 4 putt.
Seve was once asked about “how did you 4 putt?”
Seve said, “I miss, I miss, I miss, I make.”

Game is in an interesting spot. I’m hitting wedges, irons, fairway woods, and driver extremely well. I have the capability to shoot around even par. I generally don’t, bc I throw in 2-3 three putts per round, can’t get up and down out of bunkers, and I’m liable to shank 1-3 shots per round. I generally shoot around 77-81.
I need to practice bunker play and putting. I also need to eliminate the shank from my game. I spend a lot of my rounds actively trying to avoid it, which lowers the ceiling on the type of shots I can hit. When I’m swinging free and confidently, I can hit 14-15 greens a round. When I’m battling mentally and swinging (anti-shank mode), I’ll generally only hit 8-10 greens. And I don’t have the bunker play or putter at a high enough level to bail me out.
I’m most proud of my chipping this year. I used to chip like a 30 handicapper. Now it’s pretty damn good. But I did work all year on it and neglected putting/bunker practice.
Playing Carter Plantation tmrw for the first time, so will be a great test. Last round I played was at TPC Louisiana. Shot a 79 while the wind was blowing 30 mph. I was proud of that round due to the wind conditions.
