How much distance have you added to your drive?

Since when you first started to now? And how long have you been playing?

I’ve played roughly ten to twelve rounds total and I broke 100 for the first time a few weeks ago. I’ve been playing with some hand me down Titleist 990’s but just picked up a set of AP1’s. I’m still hitting my first driver though, the driver that came with a Walter Hagen beginner set. Just curious as to what kind of distance I can expect to add to my drive once I really Start focusing on it as I’ve been only been playing consistently for about 3 months.

Thanks

Just updating to the newer technology you should add 10 to 20 yards. As far as your overall question, there's really no answer.

Yea, I realized after I asked it that’s it’s probably not something someone can answer.

I can consistently hit 240. when I try to put some muscle into it I can get it to 260 but when I do that the accuracy suffers big time. Maybe 1/7 shots will actually go that far.

I’ve lost a bunch by trying to swing all normal and whatnot.

Ive lost distance since college, but I hit the fairway a lot more. But to your point, with a new driver, you can expect more distance, more accuracy, and it’ll be easier to hit than your current driver.

I started 4 years ago with an Academy “Knight” set with a driver I could only slice. It went further right than it went straight... probably 180 yds max.

Went Ping G30 SFT to callaway XR16 thinking it was simply the equipment. Didn’t help till I got lessons. Finally, 2.5 years ago spent 2 months working on getting the right setup for an Epic while getting lessons. Got to about 265 carry. Now I’m in a Rogue (after cracking the Epic face) with a handcrafted evenflow which I got in another fitting which was the best one yet (Bebu Golf studio. See Buddha). Can carry up to 280 and wwaaayyy more consistent.

Brgetthenet do you give lessons in Baton Rouge? If so, I think you might have given me my only lesson ever like 6 years ago.

From a Walter Hagan beginner set? Thats not a rediculous statement at all. The guy is probably using a micro head and graphite shaft driver.

But per usual, you provide no context or rebuttal just some emoji.

I've played semi regularly for 20 years. I'm probably 60 yards longer than back then, 30 yards shorter than at my peak playing on the HS team and into college.

It ain't getting longer.

Well, I probably peaked out on distance in my early 30’s. I had a Callaway Big Bertha 454 with an X-flex shaft and rarely got out driven in those days. I’m 43 and fat now and can’t turn like I used to. I score better now than I did then though, so I’ll take the trade off.

I hit the same 910 D3 for about six years until earlier this year I upgraded to the 915 D3.

I am absolutely murdering the golf ball. I’ve gained about 10 yards by simply upgrading equipment.

Lost about 40 yards after back surgery, and age is starting to take its toll. In my prime I averaged over 300 off the tee.

I average around 255 off the tee these days, I can get them 280+ if I go after it, but I pay for swinging at one that hard the next day. Been playing a little over 50 years.

I've added about 270 yards. When I was 3 I hit it about 30 feet. Now I average about 280 off the tee.

Well, when Tader first started playing, he had a Taylormade 510 driver and could knock one out there about 210. Then he saw the new R7 Quad with the advertized 17 yards of added distance, so he bought that one. Then, 3 weeks later, the R8 supertri came out, with an advertised increase of 23 yards. After playing that one for approximately 2 months, the Burner Superfast came out with an advertised 33 yards of increased distance.

So, as you can see, just by buying Taylormade drivers, I added over 60 yards in a matter of months. But, I am not done yet. Since then, they've released an additional 128 drivers.

The Mach R1 (or whatever it was called) added 7 yards strictly because of the paint job on top alone. Wasn't enough, so I lofted up with the SLDR 2 weeks after the release of the R1. Lofting up got me 33 yards instantly but then the front to back sliding weight thingy on the M1 and delofting the 8 degrees I lofted up got me an additional 28 yards.

With my most recent addition, the M3 and hambone tech, I added 38 yards for a grand total of 487 yards average driving distance.

Buy a taylormade driver today! (and again next week)

I dont know if ive actually added any distance, but it sure goes a hell of a lot "further" when it goes straight.
