Destination trips are the best. You will really enjoy Capital Hill.

My Torrey trip got cancelled last year b/c of COVID.

I'd rate the big trips i've been on as:

1-Pinehurst - nothing like it
2-Kohler - 4 insane courses topped by Whistling Straights
3-Hilton Head - Harbour Town sooo good
4-Norther Michigan - sneaky good golf, esp Arcadia Bluffs
5-St Aug - 2 good courses at golf hall of fame and Sawgrass is close

Planning either Pebble or Bandon for this year.

For KS, play Firekeeper. Norah Begay design on tribal land between KC and Lawrence. Fantastic layout and top rated.

I was there during the Rudy Goebert game. Was a surreal weekend.

Oh, and it absolutely pissed rain and was about 50 degrees for 14 holes, then the sun came out and it was beautiful but our group was 3 sheets at that point so didn't really get to "take it all in"

All in all, wonderful experience on the South Course for us.

Had to change golf course on this trip. Was slated to play Buffalo Dunes... snowed that day. Switched to Quail Ridge south of Wichita... cold/windy. Travels had put me past Firecreek by time I got your post.

We do a golf trip every year. This year we are going to the Marriott in San Antonio and play the Oaks Course even though it is way over priced.

Bandon Dunes was one of my favorite trips. Liked it way better than Pebble Beach.

If I could stand the plane trip, I would go to Maui every year and play Kapalua Plantation.

Next on our bucket list is Prairie Dunes in Kansas.

We have a large group that goes on a couple trips a year, I try to make it to one. We’ve done Pebble and Pasatiempo, Bandon pre Sheep Ranch, Streamsong, Scotland trip cancelled last year and this year due to COVID. Heading to Erin Hills and to play all the Koehler courses September 1.

But thankfully heading back to Bandon in May to experience Sheep Ranch. There’s nothing like Bandon Dunes out there. It is absolutely the greatest golf destination on the planet for a guys golf trip.

What kind of prices are you looking at for Bandon? Our group of guys in their mid 30s finally graduated to a full golf trip this year, but we are still spending less than $1,200 a guy in Scottsdale when it's all done I assume. I'm already thinking about the next trip even though this year's trip is in a week. After watching Tourist Sauce at Bandon, it really piqued my interest.

Bandon really isn’t that expensive for what you get. The prices vary throughout the year. In May it’s $225 for the first round and $115 for a replay rate. The rooms are really nice and they’re about $350 for a double room with two king beds.

Pricey.
I was trying to do the math for a buddy group. I think I had it at about $3000 p/p during peak season for 5 days-4 nights (golf-36/day and lodging). Whether that is too much, depends on what your level of expectation is.
FIVE top 100 courses. Incredible ocean views on 4 of them. Outstanding short course. Putting course for games and betting. Amazing facilities and service that is second to none.
IMO, it's a 5-star resort.
I'm a disciple.

I e been to Scotland/Ireland 2 times, 2 weeks each time. Recommend the same, if you want to play all the top courses. Otherwise, you’ll be planning another trip. In North America, highly recommend Pinehurst, Bandon (golfers only), Wisconsin, BC (Lake Okanagan), Banff area, Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island. Norther Michigan has LOTS of golf courses and great packages (some are around $100 per night...room and one round). Myrtle Beach for cheap packages. Besides going back to Scotland, I’d want to go to Bandon once a year. It is pure golf, walking, caddies, play the ball in the air, or run it on the ground. You could hit a PW or driver from 170 yards, depending on the wind. It’s more scenic that Pebble Beach, and has better layouts. The only course around Pebble that matches it, is Cypress Point.

The one negative about Bandon.....it takes a whole day of flights to get there, unless you have a private jet.

I guess it depends on availability and time of year you go.
It can be a pain, but I left early morning from Orlando, connected in Denver and landed in North Bend with enough time to play Pacific Dunes (early July). You can at least play the Preserve.
Getting out is more of a pain. Definitely 2 days coming back East.

Doing a quick search on this and Flights out of Nola are a shite show....better option is driving to Houston and flying from there.
