How about Sam Burn's 62 in The Open Today! Geaux Sam!

Sam Burns ties the all-time low round at a Major Championship with a 62 today, including a hole out from the bunker on 18 for a birdie. He has been playing really well this year and I hope he can keep up the momentum as he and his wife just had their second child on July 3 (which is why he is getting to play in The Open).
Currently tied for 3rd place at -5, with a lot of golfers left to complete their second round today.

Sam Burns failed to finish better than T20 in his first 16 major championship starts. He's got top 10s in 4 of his last 9 major starts, including 2 of 3 so far in 2026, and just matched the lowest round in major history with a 62. Blossomed into a consistent presence at majors.

Been awesome to watch him be in contention in so many tournaments recently. Hope he’s turning a corner.

He was an after thought. I get that Herbert was on 59 watch, but Burns was going off.

I hope he wins. My daughter has been a standard bearer at the Tour Championship at East Lake the last 2 years and has been in his group for a round in 2024 and 2025. She had him and Wyndham Clark in 24 and him and Nick Taylor on Friday round last year. He is a really nice guy. She is hoping to get him for a round again this year. She has this year and next year left to do the standard bearer thing out there and it would be cool if she could look back and say she has done it for 2 major championship winners.
