I’ve been taking the little one to a golf camp there and that place looks like a goat ranch

Tour 18 is worth playing at least once.

I forgot about that one. I was very pleased with its condition the last time I played it.

Whispering Pines is private and it closes down certain times of the year.

If your staying in the Galleria area, Wildcat is your best option.

2 18 hole courses that are very different from each other.

Cypresswood Traditions and GCOH were both very nice when I played them. I preferred GCOH but would recommend either

I like GCOH but my god the weekend rounds there are easily 5-5.5 hours if you aren’t one of the first ones off

I live about 10 minutes from Tour 18. It's a good course to say you played it once but prep thy anus for a 5+ hour round. That place stays packed.

There are some really nice courses on the outskirts of H-town. EaglePointe in Mont Belvieu and the Wilderness in Lake Jackson are somewhat of a drive but much more reasonable than getting raped at Blackhorse and usually in great shape.

The Wilderness is one of my go to courses.

Love that place and the people are always friendly.

Gus Wortham is certainly worth playing.

How is it since the renovation? Used to go after work in the afternoons. Had a unique layout and history but was a goat ranch then. Moved and never saw it after reopening.

They did a great job on the renovation. Course is always in decent shape. The new pro shop and grill building just opened up. The road and parking lot was just repaved too. The only drawback are the first few holes are boring and the place of play on weekends is a joke.

The did a great job on the renovation.

Back in the Spring they had some of the best greens in town.

Weekend play will be slow.

17 and 18 are great holes.

And if you push a ball 20 yds right, you're drilling a car

You really don't need a driver on the first two holes.

3 wood or hybrid works fine.

Played Longwood this weekend. I think we played Pines and Palmetto. Overall the Fairways and Rough were in good shape. The majority of the greens on Pines were trash…plenty of bald spots. The Palmetto greens were noticeably in better shape. But it’s a joke that on some holes the cart paths are obstructed by overgrown bushes lol.

Yeah, Longwood is definitely a course you play because everything else is booked, or the other courses have outrageous rates. I'd still play Longwood over Cypress Lakes even if the prices were the same.

What happened to Cypress Lakes. Is use to be very good, especially the greens.

Along with that what happened to Longwood ? The 3 courses use to be great.

Every course in town right now is making money, no excuses to not be in great shape.

Cypress Lakes got wrecked by the freeze. Even before that, though, I felt like it very overpriced. It is not an $80 weekend course. I am not sure what has caused it to be in poor shape.

Longwood feels like it has always felt. For a course that is never over $60, I think it is fine.

I played Longwood the 2nd week after it opened. It was in pristine condition.

I was told that the course has been sold several times. That the same issue with Greatwood.

I will say that Greatwood is in the best shape now than the past 5 years. Our homeowners group tried to buy the Lopez family out and they declined the offer.

Wish that we could dump them.
