Played Highland Pines on Wednesday, $125 with a bucket of balls during the week is pricey. Fantastic shape as always, I don’t think I’ve played a course with faster greens.
Still worth the money

Looks like they are humming along on the clubhouse too!

Playing Grand Pines tomorrow, will report back.

Got away from my club and played Cypresswood (Tradition course) this morning with some buddies. Course was in fantastic shape.

However, it was a 5 hr round and we even teed off early. Marshals were driving around plenty and aware of the problem but didn’t actually help. He even said that 4:30 is what they aim for pace of play.

The waiting was miserable and these guys vowed to never book there again.

Welcome to public golf on weekends. Only reason I joined a course.

Played Grand Pines at Bentwater, course is in good shape. The real mvp was the Tomball Tollway, left house at 1115, course by 1220, played 18, stopped at HEB and back home in The Energy Corridor by 535.

That’s ridiculous. Played High Meadow Ranch today, and we finished in under 4 hours with a group of 3. Super enjoyable with only a little waiting between shots.

Course is in pretty good shape other than a couple holes. Couple tee boxes under repair and one hole was pretty wet due to a sprinkler leak somewhere I'm assuming. Greens are a little slow, but they were rolling really nicely, so can’t complain too much. I really like playing that course early in the morning. Deer everywhere running around the course, and a little bit of elevation change makes for a nice round.

Played Cypresswood’s Cypress course yesterday morning with some co-workers. Course was in great shape, but it was a 4:45 round. Never again.

Our exact experience and they don't seem to care, way too crowded. We vowed to never go back after a 5+ hour round.

For the price, in that area both Cypresswood courses are tough to beat which is prob why they stay so crowded.

Not sure about the Traditions course, but the Cypress course has a few risk/reward holes that bottleneck everything. Guys wait on the tee box for the group in front to get on the green meanwhile lines of carts start piling up.

There is nothing more frustrating in a round of golf than turning a corner, seeing a group waiting on the tee box and another group waiting in their carts for them to tee off.

That’s because the average weekend warrior isn’t going to play a hole as it was designed. They are just going to get up to the tee box and slice driver. They wait for the bottleneck to clear on the off chance they catch one, therefore, you get long wait times on that course.

Tried to get a tee time at Highland Pines for yesterday once the registration window opened. I waited until mid morning to book a foursome and nothing was available. We ended up playing the Tournament Course at the Golf Club of Houston. The course was in fantastic shape but surprisingly it was cart path only, I would have thought that it would drain better. The Marshall said the LIV Golf folks did a tour of the course last week and they were overall please with the conditions. I started off even par after four, but the fifth hole got me and then the wheels fell off. Ended up with a 89.

Played Bearkat in Huntsville last week, it sucked.

Didn't play but was at Memorial today, I hate the overseed, looks pretty to people who don't understand golf but looks like a big soft meh.

covid ruined that course. Used to move decently. Last few times i played there were at least 2 groups on every hole
