Enough of us play around town that I thought this might be useful, maybe the admins can even sticky it. Obviously the drought has been a bear on courses but still be nice to know how stuff is holding up.

Seen these in the last month.

Gus, in fantastic shape, I don't know how they do it with all the play they get.

Woodlands CC Player Course, a little brown in spots but overall course is in good shape, they are keeping the greens a little long which is the prudent thing to do.

Cinco Ranch, it has battled all summer but it's really starting to show that it needs water, grass is very sparse.

Shadow Hawk, in fantastic shape but not the perfect tour conditions we've come to expect. They are keeping the fairways and greens a little long(smart) but playing those greens at an 8 or 9 is tough to get used too.

Supposed to play Whispering Pines in the morning, I'll report back.

Forgot I played Atascocita a few weeks ago, it was long and shaggy everywhere.

Played The Wilderness in Lake Jackson last week, the front nine was in good shape. The back nine was fantastic. This Tuesday - Wednesday they were supposed for punch the greens and maybe fairways.
Also played Tour 18 yesterday and it was in overall fantastic shape. Some of the greens had small bald spots but overall it was nice.
Played Gus two weeks ago and it was in great shape as always, with the rain last week and heading into the City Championships, I’m sure it’s even better.

Greatwood-

The greens are the best in years. The fairways are a mixture of green and brown, some holes have some big cracks in the fairway. Need a lot of rain now.

Meadowbrook Farms -

Played today. Greens were fine and pretty quick.

Fairways were green, but were cut very tight. Bunker were fine, plenty of sand.

Pet Peve-

$58.00 for Senior rate today and no cart girl. Plus they do a terrible job of promoting thier grill.

I haven’t played there in years.

Public and very proud of their course. I've only played it a couple of times the last few years because Cinco is always cheaper, and I think I Cinco is better.

Meadowbrook Farms ( Norman design) is a decent layout, but it's the weirdest "High End" run course I have ever seen.

They have a membership program but they don't promote it or offer the amenities needed.

Food & beverage sales should be a high priority but today I couldn't even buy a gatorade when we teed off at 7:30am.

Played Whispering Pines yesterday, I'm guessing I've played it a dozen or so times but this was the best I'd ever seen it. The zoysia is very bouncy right now!

Are they public? I looked on their website and didn’t see any info.

Extremely private. Millionaires boys club is a better description.

I had a second hand invite to play there a couple of years ago, but when the host found out that I was a LSU Alum, the invitation/round never materialized.

I blame Joe Burrow and Justin Jefferson, that 3rd and 17 TD broke the Texas fans spirit.

Played Westwood yesterday and it's fantastic right now, the drought hasn't hurt them.

Love that course, hard to believe that it's located in the middle of a war zone.

Use to play there 3-4 times a year.

Went and played Liberty Municipal today, it's a 9 holes that reopened in April after extensive renovation. It was very good and far exceeded expectations, they also have a fantastic restaurant on site. Took me just over an hour from west Houston.

Played Houston National out in Cypress on Saturday. Course looks like complete shite outside of the greens. Haven’t been out there since the spring but they must’ve just completely given up this past summer.

Fairways have random patches of mixed type grass and mostly dirt. Around the greens are different kinds of patches of grass that hadn’t been cut in a few days. Still charging $80 per round after tax. Course prob isn’t worth $30.

Won’t be back.

Shame about the condition of Houston National, really like the layout.

That course has some huge water moccasins on the holes across the street from the clubhouse too.

#9 with the water around the green?

I will say I was pretty disappointed. I don’t know if fairways can be in worse condition. Not sure at $80 why people were there. I guess suckers like me who didn’t know.

Played Highland Pines last Friday and it’s still in fantastic shape. Greens were slightly slower after the Thursday night rain, but they are still rock hard being brand new and all.

I’m hoping to get back out there again within the next few weeks.
