Beaver needs a spreader sticker application. ASAP.

what the frick do we BR residents have to do to get decent greens on a public track?

BREC owes everyone an apology right this minute.

I wasn't passing up the opportunity to use Beaver and spread sticker in the same sentence and it kinda make sense.

I would not use a spreader sticker.

If those pictures of Beavers greens a few weeks ago were true..

Id shut them down for a few weeks. Set up temp greens in the fairways with 8" cups. The grass on the fairway was at least puttable, there was no grass on the greens.

Fertilizer, topdress, water the shite out of the greens for 6 weeks with no play.

Short struggle of pain for long term viability.

There's really only 4 reasons for those greens to look like shit, 3 of which are controllable and one is a double edged sword.

1. TifDwarf variety of Bermuda. It doesn't do well in Louisiana during the winter, especially with big rainfall totals. Most courses have moved away from this turf on the greens.

2. Push Up greens. shite drainage. Enough said. If theyre TifDwarf greens, that would make them original to the course design and Push up greens could be still in use, however if they have ever been renovated, keeping Push Up Greens would have been eliminated in the renovation.

3. Greens were over seeded with rye/bent for winter play. I doubt this very very much. This is the double edged sword.

4. Bad agronomic practices. Most likely scenario.

Soil Scientists have a tendency to take it easy during the winter months, as they are burdened with loads of work during the summer. The problem with that is, everything you do during the winter is as important as what you do during the growing season. If you're turf is shite going into winter, it's going to be even worse come spring/summer. Then you have to work doubly hard during the summer to re establish turf.

Professionally, I do as much as I can to limit my work load. I'm busy enough, I don't need to create more headaches in the future because I got lazy/complacent for a few weeks during the winter.

Atchafalaya looking great. Come on out and enjoy the fresh mornings!

I played there 2-3 wks ago and they were terrible. The flip side is that every thing else on the course was immaculate...

Oh yeah, The traps are thin on sand and crusty

Your greens don't look like this?

Here's another one from 5 weeks ago. I didn't post it because of the shadow.
