I was the same way. Truly hated it. I was a hacker and wanted to bomb driver 14 times. But it tests you. And if you can learn to manage that course, it helps your game travel which has been nice.

It was the hardest hole during the club championship. Twice to carry water. Can’t miss left or long. People don’t respect how tough the tee shot is.

3 and 7 are far too similar now. Flip them around and give 3 a flat spot in the back and it’s the exact same hole.

Once people realized that it’s okay to just play it along the water and have 160 in, it got better. Everyone was so used to taking aim at the hazard.

People used to say it was tougher when it was 1. But I wouldn’t hate getting two shots off the first tee on that one lol.

It’s less about the pin placement and more about the tee placement. The way the golds get fricked compared to every other tee box. The tees shift closer to the trees. The grass is almost always dead. I’d rather be on the tips from 210 than on the golds from 170 with no clear shot for a draw and hitting off sand.
