Any recs on a good but affordable golf travel bag to use for trips?

I have been using the caddy daddy soft on Amazon for $100 for a decade or so now. Works great for me.

Happy with the Club Glove? I've considered purchasing one as well

Soft bags are great unless you have an issue. Just remember, most airlines will not cover / insure anything in your bag if it's lost or stolen if in a soft bag.
Credit card coverage on baggage varies and some of them I have seen will cover soft bags but many will not (same with Ski's, etc).
Just be aware that while the chances of loss or damage may not be great, your chance at reimbursement with a hard case is MUCH greater than it is with a soft case. No matter what other precautions you take.

I use the Amazon brand soft bag with the stiff bar to protect clubs. Works fine. I think it was $60 for both.

I don't trust my shitty clubs, my shitty swing to a shitty baggage handler. Hard case for me.

Spend the money, go with Club Glove and be done with it.

Soft bag users think they've unlocked some sort of travel cheat code. They are dedicated bunch tho. Even the suggestion to consider a hard case for the protection against loss and damage makes them downvote.
It's an awkward hill to die on but to each their own.

Fly Delta, they allow soft golf travel bags without a waiver.
Delta Air Lines requires passengers to sign a limited liability release form when checking golf clubs that are not packaged properly. Sporting equipment that is not packed in a hard-shell case or soft-sided golf travel bag after signing the release is considered improperly packed and may not be accepted. This is because bags are handled by employees, the Transportation Security Administration (TSA), and travel on conveyor belts, which can damage them.
I have never had to sign a release with my club glove soft travel bag. Had a guy on my last golf trip that had his driver broken and Delta reimbursed him the full amount.

Fly Delta,
Or, use a hard case and fly with whoever provides the best flight schedule and pricing. I’m going to guess by your UGA logo you’re using ATL a lot which makes sense for Delta. Thats not the same everywhere else.
Switching sports but same mentality, I’ve used delta, United and Southwest all to fly to and from salt lake when I ski based on the best schedule and pricing. Buying one case to give the most options and provide the most protection and insurance was an easy choice.

Tour players from the PGA Tour down to mini tours and college players use Club Glove bags with a stiff arm and have for forever. I'd venture to say none of them use a hard case.

Let me know what Southwest says when you try to make a claim and give them that reasoning.
Why try to move the goalpost?
I fully acknowledge the advantages to soft cases over hard for storage but it's simply not worth it to me even with an air tag, stiff arm and ample protection around the clubs. Use a soft bag if you want, just understand that if the airline loses your bag or if the contents are damaged, most of them have zero obligation to replace them if their damaged or lost.
I'd much rather fly whatever airline I want and rent an SUV than fly with $3,000 of equipment at risk without protection from the airline. It's an easy solution from the start.

I thought most folks used soft. Not saying you can’t have an issue, but my soft case has been good. Some extra towels around my driver when packed, stiff arm and it folds for storage. Works for most.

Most folks do use soft and most folks don't realize they're exposed if something happens. They're great...until you have an issue.

I have the Samsonite hard case and it's worked fine with me. It's a little awkward even with 4 wheels to get it through the airport, but I manage. I'm flying Southwest to Reno in middle of September for our annual golf week at Lake Tahoe and I've never had an issue with that case.

Save yourself the worry but get a SKB hard case. I had a club glove XXL for 20 years and knock on wood never broke a club. We went on a golf trip and all flew together and my driver snapped. Once we got in the rental car heading out, I ordered the SKB to our rental and it was there in 24 hours. Haven't looked back since.
Huge PIA to transfer/move but don't care if my clubs make it intact 100% of the time.
