This is my brag post ! Yesterday I made an Eagle on a par 5 . After a good drive , I hit a 5 iron to the green that hit the pin and stopped 4 inches from the hole. I tapped it in for an Eagle. The other couple said I came so close to having an Albatross. I’d never heard of that . Now I’ve got the Golf bug really bad!

Remember this in two weeks when you’re a million over par and your swing feels like a gd unfolded lawn chair. It helps on the drive home.

One great shot is all it takes to keep you coming back.
Golf is like cocaine. It will make you a new man, and all that new man wants to do is more cocaine.

The next time you play it you’ll hit a shite drive, blade a five iron over the green, chili-dip a wedge, get on, and 3 putt.
Welcome to your addiction!!

I know...ain't it great!...
then you hit the shot that disappears on the clubface and backs up into the hole and your ready to play another round...

Got one albatross in my life (I'm 66) on Bridlewood Golf Course in Flower Mound, TX on the Par 5 16th hole that was playing 490 yards. It happened during a tournament and was witnessed by three players. I nailed the drive and on my second shot I used my fairway wood. That shot landed hot in front of the green, rolled up the green and dropped into the hole.
That shot cost me several hundred dollars in celebratory drinking at the end of the tournament.
I had one eagle that came on a third shot on the Huntington Park (Shreveport) golf course's #3 hole. I'd nailed my drive. Normally, that drive would still leave me 230+ yards away, but it hit a sprinkler head or a grate and went further up and rolled into the water hazard. I took a drop, and hit my third from about 185 with a 6 iron that hit the green and rolled into the hole.
It's that kind of stuff that keeps you playing.

I know, I should probably stop playing now!

Playing golf is like having a relationship with a crazy bitch. If you look at it objectively, it’s just not worth it. But when it’s good, it’s just so good.
