You'll have better chance at the tables than getting sub 15mph winds at Paiute...
I played Friday, greens were on the slower side (for them) so its manageable wind some wind.

On Friday I can play Wolf @ Paiute or Wolf Creek. Is it worth the extra drive? At Paiute I do have the first tee time on Friday AM 6.50 (or at least pro shop told me first tee time). Wind should not be as bad early morning.

You are correct. 3 courses at Paiute. Snow, sun and wolf. Snow is the best in my opinion. Sun is the hardest. And wolf charges more because they have an island green. Losers lol

Paiute is worth every penny and closer. You will absolutely not be disappointed

Playing tpc summerlin that Friday. Really looking forward to that

Honestly happy to pay anything if it’s a good course and worth the experience. I had Shadow Creek locked in for Monday, but my buddy didn’t want to do the $1k green fee (understandable) and realistically said he doesn’t want to do any golf, so I’m probably flying solo. Probably have decided to put away the mega expensive courses.
Bali Hai does look like shite, but they dropped their price to $249 and it’s literally on the strip, plus I can tee off before 7am. And not for nothing, but I do like to play something new if all else is equal.
I think I’m going to move plans around to play Saturday morning instead, but am open to suggestions.
I’ve already played the following in “Vegas” area: Primm Valley, TPC Vegas, Bear’s Best, and Wolf Creek.
Obviously Shadow Creek was my #1 choice but not really in the cards now. Cascata was my backup but they’re closed for overseeding. Same with Rio Secco. Bears Best I would have been open to playing again, but they’re punching their greens that week. Paiute doesn’t have morning times available. Wolf Creek is amazing but it’s a trek. Reflection Bay felt like the only other choice (which I thought looked better than Bali Hai) but more of a drive and no tee time until 830am.
Wynn is the wildcard. They don’t list tee times (or prices) online, don’t really feel like calling. Doubt they have early Saturday slots available and I’ve heard the green fee is like $600 which at this point if I’m going without any buddies feels like a waste.
If I’m overlooking something better than Bali Hai, please let me know. It’s a shame it does look so bad but I don’t see any other choice

I have friends that played Bali Hai today and said it was in great shape. However they are punching their greens tomorrow. I have the players card at Boulder Creek which is always up to par and in great shape. 30-40 minute ride from the strip. They don’t do their maintenance until after Labor Day.

Yes to Wolf Creek a thousand times.
Reflection bay wasn’t in good shape when we played it earlier this year.
If I were you I would trade reflection bay for one of the Paiute courses. Those are all spectacular. Going back in February and gonna play Snow mountain again.

Anybody playing in the shamble at Paiute that Saturday morning? It’s an LSU/USC event with former players. Me and a buddy signed up last week.

I've convinced the group to move to Paiute Snow course from Bali Hai. Only an extra 15 min drive from the hotel.

Do you have a link to this? I’d be inclined to cancel my Bali Hai tee time and play in this as well

I don't know what it'll be like in August/September, but I played in May and the weather couldn't have been nicer while I was there. I assume it'll be like 110, which is what it feels like in south Louisiana right now, so is it really that different?
I played 3 times.
Angel Park Mountain Course - not a bad track, but the greens were spongy for lack of a different way to describe it. Everything broke one direction, even if your eyes told you differently.
Desert Pines - was told it was not great and in the wrong part of town, but it was the most fun I had of the 3 courses. Not a long course, with some fun driveable par 4s. Lots of undulating greens. Had a blast, and we actually replayed it and got 36 holes in in less than 6 hours.
TPC Las Vegas (not Summerlin) - typical TPC course. Great conditions, yet not a single memorable hole. Well, there was one. The beverage cart girl told me to hit a 200 yard club at the church steeple on 12 (or 13, can't quite remember). I followed her instructions and was left with an easy wedge to the green. My playing partners ignored her and hit driver into the canyon.
Wanted to make the trek up to Wolf Creek, but my schedule just didn't allow with the long drive there and back.

Man that looks awesome. Wish they were doing it on Friday or even Sunday before the game. Just feel like Saturday with the thing ending after 2, you’re not gonna be back to the strip probably til 330ish kinda eats up the whole day of first day of college football being on.
tough choice, I wonder who the LSU legends are

Playing Snow tomorrow. I’ll update you on condition.

Decent golf course close to the strip. Doesn’t have to be top tier and would rather not pay $200 for a round. Was thinking closer to $100 or maybe a little more…. That might not even be possible I have no idea. Got any suggestions?

You can look at Angel Park which is 15-20 minutes west of the strip. Call and get the maintenance schedule first however. They have 2 courses there. Mountain and Palm courses. Mountain is harder.

Played Paiute Snow yesterday and it is absolutely in the best condition. Everything is perfect tee to green.

Was it the greens? Looks like they had new greens put in earlier this year
