I don’t think $90 is high for a PGA Pro. Most are around $100.

I agree. It’s very reasonable. I was just seeing that guys around BR were charging $140/hour or so.

I don’t know the guy but i will tell you I’m not paying that kind of money from someone who doesn’t have the use of trackman etc. there is way too much technology out there for people not to use it. Do you need it as a beginner? No. But if you’re serious about golf and want one of the better instructors they need to have trackman. The two best instructors in the S Louisiana area are Rob Noel and James Leitz and both use it. Manzella in New Orleans also has a good studio but i don’t have experience with him.

But if I’m new to golf I’m 100% taking lessons each week. Knowing how to practice and drill is one of the hardest parts of golf. Most people just get out there and hit range balls. If you’re not new to golf and are working on your game every 2 weeks to once a month is a good idea.

Yea price is what it is, I was simply saying that I have gotten a lot out of working with Nathan so far. People can get lessons cheaper but not at any private club. There’s an up charge for him being able to use their facility to teach. If people want to go hit some balls at a public course with someone watching them and no tools other than an alignment stick then that exists too.

BRCC is around $100. I don’t think anyone charges over $150 at CCL.

Didn’t you say he doesn’t use trackman?

How did they ever teach golf before launch monitors?

I honestly feel that 90% of people have no idea what face to path, or attack angle even means. Much less get any benefit out of those. Most people just want to hit it straight.

All these instructors listed are solid. Find one that fits your needs and most importantly your Son’s. Scheduling is always important to consider too. Spend time chipping and putting. Play fast!
That is all.

BRCC doesn’t have a full on practice bay with the same teaching amenities as U club, and I really like Bobby. I didn’t comment on whether Nathan uses trackman, but he has all of that. I think whether he uses certain tech depends on what he is trying to accomplish.

I’m not really concerned one way or the other, I also just don’t think 140 is astronomical. My maid charges is 200 and all she does is vacuum and change some sheets. Not too crazy in my mind for someone with an immense amount of knowledge to charge 140. Is that high for the market? I have no idea but it doesn’t seem insane to me.

For pga certified instructors with years of experience it isn’t.

What does him having a bay have to do with what he charges?

Teaching amenities is really what I said if you include the context. Screens to watch your swing, practice aids, trackman, and then the most valuable…… a large AC unit. All of those things are paid for by the club and then in turn raises the price of the lesson. Also depends on what kind of take the club wants from each lesson. That is all 100% determined by the club (the teaching pros employer) if I had to guess.

Please report back on your experience. That's a price I can live with if he knows hist stuff. What's your current handicap/average score?

Just took a lesson with Nathan at U Club yesterday and it went very well. I have really been struggling with the feel of my swing after an injury so stats mean very little to me at this time. I have taken from James Lietz and it was way to TMan driven. Took from Rob Noel for a while and he’s really good but a little too technical for me. I will be going to see Nathan again soon.

Originally, I was trying to get a lesson with Chris at The Island and this is the second time I’ve attempted to get a lesson with him. His communication skills are horrible. I live two hours from BR so I have to actually make plans. The communication both times started off good and then he just disappeared.

My current situation is 110-115 I’m extremely inconsistent.

Now I went today and Paul was great - he changed my stance had me switch grips and showed me different points where my swing should be, easy to talk to and explains things well. I’ll def go back in a few weeks.

We hit while I was there and using what he showed me I was much more consistent. Still bring my head up

I said he doesn’t rely on it. He can and will use it.

I’m assuming the $140 comes from using the U Club facilities and the price is based on an hourly rate probably dictated by U Club because you typically pay at the clubhouse.

I’d love to spend less. I’ve had lessons with Chris B and it was basically a useless lesson bc my hands were good that day and I was hitting it well. He offered no help on what I was doing wrong.

He could’ve changed since moving from Greystone.
