Caddies aren't members of the tour. Should the PGA pay benefits to the players' coaches, trainers, and chefs too?

It also bugs the shite out of me when someone says giving away another entity's money wouldn't be a big deal.

Always easy to spend/give away other peoples money. Just look at what those frickers in Washington DC get away with every day.

It’s completely ok to plan your own retirement

There are a lot of businesses that don't pay into employee retirements.

Shouldn’t they save money like the overwhelming majority of America has to do? Few have retirement plans that pay $75k per year. I think Feely is out of touch with reality.

The caddies he is talking about all make 6 figures per year. I think Jay can find far better people to feel sorry for

As the Great Payton Manning once said. "He's a good kicker. But he is an idiot".

Don’t caddies typically get a 10% rake? So they are getting $83MM. I bet they’ll be OK.

The pga tour distributes $427 million in prize money. The rest of that money is distributed in other ways.

Caddies are regulated by the PGA Tour more than other support staff. The tour limits the caddies’ ability to advertise and make money. They have to wear the bib the tourney gives them. Establishing some type of retirement plan does not seem like a big ask.

There are millions of Americans that go to work everyday without an employee sponsored retirement plan. And they don’t make 6 figures like these pga tour caddies

My company is a single employee S corp. I contract out professional services. The beauty of being self employed is I can spend my income as I see fit. I would not expect my customers to contribute to my retirement plan, nor do I want them too.

Besides, they have already formed an association that gets them group healthcare. Take the next step and set up a group retirement plan.

Asking is fine. Accept the answer you get. Why is some retired guy from another sport opining about the caddies in golf?
Thanks for your opinion Jay. Now STFU.

Correct me if I’m wrong but I don’t think the players have a guaranteed retirement either. I think it’s still somewhat merit based. Why would the caddies get a guaranteed retirement plan when the people bringing in all the money don’t. Just stupid take from Feely
