Yeah ‘Callaway’ is the creditability measure now.
Callaway has a brilliant marketing team. If they buy into and sponsor Rahm's team, they will invest into it which could drive more Callaway staffers to LIV.
Not saying it will happen, but it could.

Team PING, Team Calloway, Team UnderArmour, Team Nike, etc., etc., etc. Most of team names will be rebranded as the corporate donors join LIV similar to F-1 team names.

No I’m actually pretty smart by all conventional a means of measuring intelligence. I’m just baffled by what I assume are American sports’ fans openly rooting for this farce of a league destroying the best professional golf league with irrational maneuvers, and especially baffling considering their history.

This. Hell, I hope the Saudi's buy the XFL and totally skull frick the NFL next. I don't understand the guys pulling for this to happen. I've tried watching LIV it's a crap of a product. I don't understand how anyone who's not a Saudi or who's getting paid 1/2 billion to participate could enjoy this happening.

Outside of the players and few older tournaments the tour isnt all that great.
Why is LIV having the top players in more international events is a bad thing?
I’d rather see a premier event in South Korea with the locals going nuts for their guys versus the pebble beach pro-am for the 20th time.
Football is by far my favorite sport but the NFL TV deals make it nearly unwatchable with the amount of commercials. If the Saudis want to buy the NFL and make it commercial free Yes, I would enjoy that happening. Hell writing this during a commercial.…

Will be watching a lot less golf moving forward.

Also look at the strokes gained of guys going to LiV and see that their game has fallen apart.
4/5 of the most recent winners on the DP World Tour are LIV golfers.

well said. I've asked that question on here several times and am still waiting on a rational answer. I think it's like the movie quote, some people just like to watch the world burn.

Because I don't want to wake up at 3 am on a Sunday to watch a final round?

Maybe some people actually like Phil & that got them initially interested in the new league.
Maybe you like the idea of something different than the same old 72 hole individual competitions every weekend (Not a golf simulator league).
Then they added more golfers that you’ve always been a fan of.
Then the PGA Tour went on a smear campaign talking about 9/11 & blood money & called it a “rebel Saudi golf league”.
Then you find out the PGA Tour/Jay are a bunch of hypocrites & it makes you root even more for LIV to succeed.
Any rational person can see that LIV can actually grow the game internationally much better than the PGA Tour ever could. That’s why 70% of LIV’s roster are non-American players.

That’s maybe only 5 out of 14 events, but I guess it’s a valid complaint

I think it'll be interesting to see what happens with LIV after 2025 season once some of the bigger contracts end. They've continued to sign these big names, but the events still don't move the needle to me and are not enjoyable to watch.
Do guys like Bryson, Reed, DJ, Brooks all resign and they have another half a billion in outlay costs? At some point the Saudis want a return, they'll need outside interest in team ownership and need it to be really expensive to make the league viable. Even the deepest pockets in the world will have enough losing money at some point.

6 of the 12 announced locations are USA/Mexico. I haven't seen where the individual and team championships are

Bryson is the youngest one so I’d expect him to keep playing. Not sure about Koepka, but I think older guys like DJ/Phil/etc will eventually shift to just being the GM of their team. Long term, I see LIV being more of a league for the best international players with only a few mostly American teams (Aces, Crushers, Smash, etc)
Then you can have the rest of the best American players on PGA Tour

They'll all want to keep playing. No chance anyone other than maybe Phil is ready to move into a "GM" role. DJ is only 39 and just watched Tiger and Phil win majors at 43 and 50

The Rippers lost Jediah Morgan yesterday so the Jason Day rumors are heating up. Jason Day and Cam Smith are also represented by the Wasserman Group.

I don’t think the status of Jediah Morgan had any impact on Jason Day joining the Rippers. I get that they’re both Australian, but Day would obviously make the team much stronger.
I know we’ve seen some guys do a complete 180 before, but Day has been pretty adamant about not playing on LIV

Getting paid $100M+ can change priorities & unless they change OWGR/exemption process, DJ won’t be playing in all 4 majors after 2025

I'm pretty sure the majority, if not all of their 9 figure payouts are transfer bonuses, not an annual salary. I wouldn't expect them to get another enormous bonus. Maybe a nice salary though.
