Scuff

Mud

I was surprised by both. Scuff affected the flight more than I expected, while mud was less.

Interesting. Thanks for posting.

I've always noticed scuffed balls don't spin as well - somethings a good thing; sometimes bad but I didn't realize the carry was affected so much.

I have seen some mud balls do some wicked stuff.

Pretty interesting. I would've thought the mud ball stats would have been worse.

Looks like I can gain 10 yards if I put a light scuff on these new Pro V1s.

Something is not quite right with that. The - as well as the wording of the article.

There's no chance I lose 30 yards off the tee and hit it 45 yards offline because of that scuff on the ball.

I don’t play a scuffed ball if the scuff can’t be covered by the end of my little finger.

If scuffs reduce spin, wouldn’t it reduce a slice?

yeah and that's why I said this earlier - may not always be a bad thing. I'm a +8 /to +10. In most of my rounds played with a single ball, the ball was scuffed up.

The supposed lost distance with a scuffed ball though, I don't know man. Never noticed it being as severe as reported in the OP.
