It looks like he touched it, but I’m glad he didn’t get penalized. He had an amazing lie so there’s no reason to cheat…also with grooved sand perched up like that it’s likely he didn’t even feel it so he’s likely not guilty of not self reporting.

He clearly touched the sand leaving a flatend rake mark, Should have been penalized.

The club touched the sand. I do not see how it's up for debate.

The announcers were quick to absolve Hovland of grounding his club, but I thought the video clearly showed a slight indentation near the heal of the club. It deserved a penalty.
I like Hovland. He clearly in my opinion did not do it intentionally to gain an advantage on the bunker shot and I don’t think he would ever do it. But it happened.
