Colorado Golf Trip RecommendationsPosted by Fonzarelli

Golf Board —
Annual golf trip coming up this year, and our group (12 golfers) has landed on Colorado. Is Denver the place to stay? Or would you recommend any other cities that has good golf?
I’d appreciate recommendations for public courses, price range generally 100-200/round
Thanks in advance! .

Southwest colorado has tremendous golf... durango has Hillcrest ($75) great muni, Dalton Ranch ($175) great semi private club, Glacier Club (private but maybe you will get lucky) and Piñon Hills in Farmington, NM (bout an hour south) which has been consistently ranked as the best public course in country under $50

Clime up to the top of the highest mountain and hit a drive. Then come back in and brag about how long you drive the ball.

Denver is awful right now. Not sure i'd stay there.
Cordillera has 3 courses in the eagle/vail area. I HIGHLY reccomend the Summit course if you can get on. Absolutely amazing views (and the course is great too). Nicklause course too.

If you're traveling during the summer then I would recommend staying at one of the mountain resorts. When I was physically able to play, I played at the Air Force Academy's Eisenhower Golf Course. Each summer a group of us would travel to Crested Butte. Didn't play any of the other mountain resort courses. I'm not that familiar with public courses in the Denver area.

Aspen Golf Club. Look for a lefty hitting bombs on the range.

Arrowhead GC is unreal. Some holes look like something out of Golden Tee. I played it a few years ago and can’t wait to try it again.
