I recently had a fitting and was sent the specs for my order. My iron shafts were listed as KBS Tour 115 grams Stiff. I received the clubs yesterday and they are 120 grams. I’m going see my fitter again in a couple of days and will ask him about it.
Is it that big of a deal to have heavier shafts? They feel heavy in my hand but I think it may be a subconscious thing now that I know. Also the heads are heavier than what I’m used to so it may not be the shaft at all that I’m noticing.
My 7 iron swing speed is around 86-88 mph, and my shafts were extended 3/4” for my height.

It can be a big difference when you consider manufacturing tolerances plus or minus.

I'm firm believer in getting what you payed for and what your expectations were.

At that length, I'm sure it is pretty heavy, you should also check every irons swing weight too.

That's the weight for the stiff. 115g is the class i believe. Regular probably comes in at 115

May be completely wrong, but I don't think so

I believe you are correct. I found a chart for KBS tour shafts
Regular - 110g
Regular+ - 115g
Stiff - 120g
That makes me feel a little better. But they are heavier than my previous set. Will take some getting used too. I’m worried about fatigue at the back end of a round.

I had clubs come in with the sticker showing 125g when my specs were for 130g. They told me to check under the grip of one of the irons and they ended up being the right shafts just wrong sticker

If you think they’re off in your head, then that’s going to affect your confidence with them. I’d get exactly what you were fitted for.

1. The KBS Tour stiff is 120g, which has already been covered
2. KBS Tour are counterbalanced so feel lighter in use than their stated weight.
3. These were what you were fitted for so feel confident they’re right for you

That's basically the weight of a quarter. I doubt you would ever notice.

I have those KBS shaft stiff in my new Mizuno and I am not thrilled with them. Dynamic Gold stiff was so good to me for so long. I don't play as much as I used to or I would have switched back already to Dynamic Gold.

Part of the reason I am a little confused was that my original specs were for Project X LZ 5.5 shafts on my irons. I give him the go ahead to order and about an hour later he sends an email to say they are ordered, but he changed the shafts to something very similar to avoid an upcharge. I responded by asking why would there be an upcharge if the price was quoted for the Project X? I got no answer, and a week later the pro shop called and said my clubs were in. I haven't spoken to the fitter since, but will be seeing him this week to discuss.

I guess I’m in the minority but this would be unacceptable. You’re playing a shaft stiffer than what you were fitted for and paid for. Weight and stiffness although minuscule can really affect your delivery in a big way. I would not be accepting clubs like that.

I 100% agree.

Plus the fact that he was originally for for a 5.5 shaft is very telling and the fitter is only worrying about his own bottom line.

There is a big difference between 5.5 and 6.0

I check the lie, swingweight and length on every set I buy before walking out the door.

Golf clubs cost way too much not to be right.
