Troon Managing the club was in the works before Mike's death. The club is not in a trust it's an asset in Mike's foundation. Look for Troon to go the daily fee route to get the club in a positive cash flow stream muy pronto! It takes a lot of daily fee rounds to make that place flow to the positive side. Members are going to have to endure some minor changes to make sure the club survives and putting up with people paying about $80 round during week and 110 Fri-Sun. is one of them. Eventually they need to build a membership to 350 members and eliminated daily fee subsidy. Dawna was head of the foundation!!!
I am a member at a club that has been under Troon management for about 8 years now. Each situation is different, but Troon has vast experience in handling those different situations. I would not be too concerned about inconveniences to the current membership and it is not going to give away a good product for a cheap price. As long as the ownership steps back and allows Troon to manage the club with minimal interference, everything should work out well!

Right around $7000
You're telling me they went up $3500 a year since I moved away 6 years ago? I was paying ~$350 month

This will happen within months. They’re operating with ~100 playing members. It’s will be up over 300 which.
Hell, it’ll double with just the people Dawna banned being aloud back.

I spoke with a member who had several buddies leave, and asked him if he thought they’d come back. He said no, because they’d have to pay the $7000 again to rejoin. Do y’all think that’s accurate?

$7k? Is that all it is to join LT? I’m kind of shocked by that.

Probably. Oakbourne is $7500 or thereabouts

Esclante Golf out of Fort Worth made an inquiry into acquiring LeTriomphe and passed due to the fact that they had less than 100 members and didn't have a swimming pool. They said that in today's market not having a pool is a hard sell and that most clubs are putting in lazy rivers to make the facility more attractive to potential members.

$7k initiation? That is hard to believe. I thought he meant $7k for annual dues which is still a lot if you are trying to grow membership.

It’s 515.00 per month currently

Oakbourne is tough for a tee time for sure and honestly might have too many members at present
Can confirm.
I know for sure we are over 450 stock members because initiation fee just went up when we passed that. Wouldn't be surprised if we are 500+ now, and that doesn't include junior members under 40, which there are probably hundreds more of.

I have yet to not get a tee time I want at oakbourne and I play a couple times a week

Also i think they will double their membership numbers within 2 years if they do a membership drive with no or reduced initiation fee
If they waive initiation fee and keep the monthly dues where they are ($350-$400 month I believe), it will be hard for me not to switch. OCC currently at $515/month and has increased 3 times over the last 3 years by a total of $75/month.

Same here. The course is more crowded and pace of play has slowed down quite a bit within the last 1-2 years, but I have never not gotten the tee time I wanted on any day, ever.
Now I hear that Friday from 12:00 and on is almost impossible to get, but I don't play Fridays.

There’s a lot of legacy oakbourne members hoping LT gets there members back. A lot of the higher fees and monthly dues were because of the growth in membership and added costs to maintain the course. The range especially has taken a beating with the number of membership going up due to people leaving LT. Not to mention we miss the good ole days of playing OCC v LT matches.

It could be worse. One of my customers is a member at University Club and he told me they’re having to do a lottery on the weekend because there’s so many members. That’s hard to believe, maybe someone on here can confirm that. If true, I would be furious as a member there

It’s true.
The problem is Friday more than anything else. Too many people trying to bring guests on Fridays and the guest limit needs to be adjusted.
All things considered they’re doing the best they can with total number of members.
