Anyone here played it or know anyone that is a member there?
Just bought a house on 14. What I've heard is that it has been under new management/ownership over a year now and really improved.
Wondering if it will be worth it to get a membership.

Seems like your questions should have been answered BEFORE you bought a house on the course. Good luck . . . if the club has been having problems, I hope you got a heck of a deal on the house.

I did do some due diligence BEFORE I bought the house. I did get a good deal on it AND it was in the location I needed to be, regardless of the course.
Course looks like it's pretty good condition from what I could tell, just wanted to see if anyone on here has played it before or knows a member.
Thanks for the fantastic advice, though

It used to be a top 5 course in the state. Pretty good layout but it has been many years since I’ve played it

If you play golf, I think it would be a no brainer to join; living on the course.
I've never played there but know a guy that grew up playing there and another that lived out there and played and they both said it was a good course. Granted their knowledge of the course is not recent and I have no idea what the new management/ownership is doing.

It would be smart to support a club/course that is in your neighborhood especially if your home is on the course.

Yep and make that 25 years since I’ve played it

It’s one of my favorites for selfish reasons. Won the Mississippi Mid Am there.

Played a gulf states PGA jr event there years ago. I remember the fairways being decent but the greens being a little fury. Granted this was probably 18 years ago.

Jebus, has anyone played there this decade?
What my Realtor tells me is that is was in dire straights 18 months ago. It's now under new ownership and they've improved the condition of the course dramatically in the last year. I was down in Jackson in April looking at homes and there was a Corp tournament going on and every hole I could get a good look at was in good shape.

It's in good hands. David Sinclair and his group bought it and are putting money in it. He said there is getting ready to be a major bunker renovation done as well. He's very passionate about making Castewoods work.

I’m thinking about joining. They have a pretty good deal going right now. I live about 5 miles from the course behind Pinelake church. Haven’t joined because don’t have anyone to just go out and play with. When I’ve played it, it’s been in good shape. May join next week or wait until Refuge opens back up and get a company membership.
Anyone know any groups that get together in Brandon/Jackson area and play?
