Edit: wait is LaTour private now? It's been a few years since I've been there. I cant find tee times anywhere, do I need to call?

Not private, no idea if they do online times anywhere

Current member of MCC checking in. What dates do you have in mind? I can ask the pro, Dave Marchand, to play as well. He knows every nook and cranny of the Raynor layout.

Would be happy to host if the club isn't having an event that weekend.

Thanks again to all for the advice.

Rendevoustavern - Thanks very much for the kind offer to host and getting guidance from Dave, would be awesome if he is interested. Looking to play on either Friday, March 21, Saturday, March 22, or Sunday, March 23.

Also - the trip to NOLA, BR etc is a March break adventure with my daughter. She is 13 and is a treat. She plays golf (including Shoal) and is actually getting fitted for a new set of clubs tomorrow. I totally understand, if this changes your mind.

I don't think Metairie allows females to play on the course during the weekend.

Email me tdemail2007@gmail.com we can start coordinating. Just looked at your dates and I have a conflict but let's see what we can do for you.

When do you normally play out there? I have a regular game on Saturday mornings with a great group, but I am the youngest guy by like 30 years.

I've usually been a part of the 9:30 Sat/Sun group but been busy the last few months.

Are you in the email thread w/ 30-40 other guys?

It's more like 60-70.

Halifax, I would definitely have your pro at Shoal Creek call MCC. I know the pros do that all the time for the MCC members. I think it's great that you are aware of MCC being a Raynor design. I think you'll like it if you are a fan of his work. In my opinion, we do a poor job of making that known; although it's gotten some more emphasis recently.

Medtiger - I will definitely involve our pro at Shoal if something doesn't work out here. He's set me up in the past.

Looking forward to seeing Raynor's LA effort. FWIW - a friend of mine on the tour gave MCC a strong endorsement when I was discussing my plans with him.

From what I am reading here, it sounds like a fun membership.

Oh man, just put two and two together - leader of the email thread.

Thankfully you didn't get me twice in a row in the club championship. Hopefully this year I can compete, it's been a long few months away from MCC - time to give you some competition vs the cakewalk to the finals last year.

Didn’t they redo Shoal a couple of years ago? How is the course now? Those are the fastest greens I have ever played in the south
