Will be heading there in September. Have been “Judged” before. Don’t think I want my arse kicked like that again. Wondering more about the other two. 15 handicap index fwiw.

The Senator is the best in my opinion. Didn't care for the Judge course all that much.

The one that plays as a traditional woodland course is the easiest to manage. I found the links style layout harder than The Judge

Love all 3 of them honestly. If I had to rank them.

1. Senator
2. Legislature
3. Judge

Definitely play the legislator. The senator is harder than the judge right now, especially if you are unfamiliar with the layout. Legislator is a great course too. The greens have a lot of undulations but they are soft. The senator greens are firm af and you get penalized for hitting good shots. The judge is just a bunch of water to contend with. It has the easiest greens.

Ranking:

Legislator
Judge
Senator

If you are playing two rounds at capitol hill consider playing the judge again. If you play up a tee box from where you normally play then the course becomes really fun.

Source: Ive play hundreds of rounds on all these courses.

I played all 3

Played my best round for Senator. Fit my game well.

Judge wasn't too bad as long as you can hit it the ball long

Legislator beat me up

A couple years ago they redid the greens on the senator. When they were soft it was a fun target golf course. But now it requires an extremely high and soft approach shot or you have to play the ball to roll out 10+ yards from where it lands. It's a bitch.

The senator's main defense will always be the impossible fescue. There are very few trees on the course but if you hit it off the primary rough and into the fescue you probably won't even find your ball, let alone hit it.

Also, on #17 of the senator they just added water all alongside the right of the fairway. I think the idea was that players won't spend as much time looking for their ball in that huge ditch if it's filled with water.

My rankings are:

1. Legislator
2a. Judge
2b. Senator

We brought a group down last summer and played these and Oxmoor - Ridge and Ross Bridge. Ross Bridge was my favorite followed by the Legislator. I love the course. Starts on the bluff, goes into the bottoms and then back up to the bluff to finish. I really like links courses so the Senator was fine with me. It would be the last of the 3 that I would play but its really close to The Judge in terms of enjoyment for me. I think the Legislator is just a good bit better than the other two.
