It's a mixed bag. Some long and some short. I also fight the pull out of my swing perpetually. Always pulling left. Sometimes I overcorrect right. Or just line up too far right planning on a pull. Needs a lot of work.

I use a 58 for 100 yards in. A normal full swing on a 58 is 100-110. Really pretty comfortable distance at 100 out. When I have to regulate the swing speed down, it gets inconsistent. When I can, I try to play for the 100 yard distance, but the driver gets inside of that distance frequently.

I haven't quite developed the touch for different yardages at 100 yards in. It's getting better but not quite as accurate as I'd like. I

That's one shot I just dont have or trust. 100 in I used either PW, AW, or 54. I just open up the stance and treat it like a long pitch shot. It's weird, but works for me.

For some reason I read this as your swing speed and really wanted to see a 110 mph swing with a 58 degree.

Funny you say that because my go-to when I'm even 20-30 yards off the green is often a bump and run. When I try to lob my wedge onto the green, I hit it fat or thin a lot. The lob shot has improved quite a bit for me and a good reason my score has come down to low 80s consistently, but I still have those days where I'll absolutely duff one or two of those. Absolutely irritating.

Exactly what I was thinking. I have decent distances with my irons but I'm not hitting a PW 190 yards or anything like that.

Oh I’m throwing it all the way with spin when hitting that shot.

If I’m just off the green, I’ll bump with a 7i I’ve the lie is jacked up.

I don’t like this advice. I want my mindset on birdie putts to be the same as it is on bogey putts which is “it doesn’t fricking matter if I miss this putt.”

I honestly think changing my mindset on putting is why I’m a midish 70s player. When I realized there’s no difference in a birdie par or bogey putt it freed me up. I get more fired up making a good putt to save bogey than I do when I make a birdie. They all count as one. I also think it probably has helped me make more birdies because I don’t stress about making them as much. Tell myself I’m going to get a handful of decent looks for birdie today. Just need to make a couple to have a good round.

You need to identify where you are losing shots most often and fix that. Different for everyone. I was in the same boat and it was long irons/fairway woods for me. I tried to work around them as best as I could.

Don’t regulate swing speed per se, shorten your backswing and/or choke down on the club. Always accelerate to the ball and swing with authority.

Don’t overswing, but accelerate through the ball on those wedges. I recall watching Faldo warm up and he said he tries as do many others, to swing at 75 or 80 percent and not 100 percent on most shots like that.
