Good list.
Thanks.
I used to play a ton, and took lessons from Brain Mogg.
So I got to hit balls with some of his students, most notably Todd Hamilton after he won the British. Also got to meet Doc Rivers when his lesson went long.

Todd Hamilton
The absolute worst ball striker I have ever seen in person at The Masters. I had just entered the gates when they opened the new practice facility in 2010 and while I was watching Poulter hitting pitch shots I could hear someone on the range making every hit sound thin as hell.
I could see Larry Mize from there and knew it wasn't him. As I got to the stands and looked on the tee box I saw Todd Hamilton. I don't think I heard one solid strike in the 30 balls I watched him hit. It still amazes me he won a major.

On Tuesday, I played with a British guy who is currently on the Asian Tour. He fricking crushed the ball off the tee, and it was amazing to see how quickly and accurately he could read the greens. There was a 3-club difference when we had similar shots into the green hahaha
I am hoping to get one more round in with him this week before he heads back to get ready for his next tournament in Singapore.

Hal Sutton, actually a couple of times. Both times, he beat me, but probably not as bad as he was thinkin' he would...

The guys on tour are on another level than even that. Also, sometimes it just clicks. Wesley Bryan played at SC and almost quit golf, because he couldn't break 80. He finally got it together, and now he is a PGA Tour winner.
A few years back I played in a Pro-Am with a guy on the Web Tour. He said that any of those guys have the shot shaping ability to make it on the big tour... the difference is the short game of the big name guys. When asked if he ever thought of giving up on the dream he said "if I go out and shoot my best golf for four straight days and finish tied for 30th or some shite... then I'd give it up, but if I do that, I'm going to win or at least be top 5."

On Friday, I played at Wildcat-Highlands with two guys from the Asian tour and 2 college golfers. I was clearly a 5th wheel, and those jabronis made me play from the tips. Holy shite they were good. And with a 5-some and carts on path, we finished the round (minus 1 skipped hole) in under 4 hours.
One guy shot -6 with 6 birdies, an eagle, and 2 bogies and still lost money to the college kids. The eagle was a 185-yard blind shot up to a green on a hill. He hit a 7 iron and immediately boasted that it was probably in the hole. And once we got up there it was. fricking amazing.
I played ok for the most part. Had a 4-hole run of birdie, par, par, bogie and only 2 triples overall.

David Toms. Only round I’ve ever played with a pro. I was a 1 handicap at the time. It truly blew my mind the difference between a scratch golfer and a pro. You can see they’re better just by watching TV but to see it up close and personal makes you realize just how far apart their games are.

On October 6, 2014, I played 18 holes with Jordan Speith at Dallas National. He then had lunch with us for about 2 hours. It was one of my favorite golf rounds. It was right after the Ryder Cup and he was using his Ryder Cup bag. He was 21 years old. The next year, he had his historic 2015 year. Probably the nicest and most polite young man I have ever been around (except my kids).
